@normtheclone DragonForce isn't a speed metal band. They said themselves they do extreme power metal. Although some say they're a progressive band......but I go by what the band members themselves said. What better people to know than they?
@Metallicafanatic74 Some bands do get their own genre wrong (or more often, create new, ridiculous labels for themselves) but yeah, Dragonforce know their own sound quite well. I wouldn't call them progressive, since the only thing they have in common with prog metal is that they use some unconventional song structures, and weird structure is common in metal to begin with.
1. Don't bash other metal artist, we need to unite, we can't fight against pop music if we arn;t even together.
2. Watch more and more metal video's to get it to the top of the list.

I need to say this song is pretty strange, I think it's a kind of Demo, I have this song and is completely different, the drums sound more processed and better and also are a little bit different, it sounds a little bit more produced.

@InFlames767 I agree that they started to go down the drain after Inhuman Rampage but the only reason they sucked live in 2006 was because their sound engineer failed. They were playing it right, it's just the sound engineer failed/ technical difficulties arose.

I've been DragonForce fan ever since my cousin introduced them to me with this song, yes even before guitar hero came out, but I'm quite happy they put Through the Fire and Flames in the game, I like the song and it showed people epic music. Fast and full of rage,.

@dragonforks93 I understand, but what I meant was that even though they have become more well known, they haven't gotten that many actual fans of their music from the GH crowd (I learned of them because of GH, but I like their older music better), they've just gotten fans of hard songs who may not necessarily know Dragonforce, they just know TTFAF (and Fury of the Storm, to a lesser extent).

First albums you can usually tell the band has never released an album before, at least not with a big record label.

I love this song. This is Dragonforce before guitar hero recognized them (also known as: When they were good). This is my favorite song by them and the rest of this album and Sonic Firestorm are amazing. After that, they have sucked ever since. I can't stand them now, but I love their old stuff. All the songs sound too different from their original style, the reason I loved them to begin with, and it just sounds like fancy guitar playing with a bunch of keyboards thrown in now. This is the track that got me onto them (by accident, was looking for something else). Not their best but love the chorus.. Spirit is surely their best?
I like Dragonforce because they make good solos, they do real solos as well, none of that 10 second, 2 bar crap they make 3 minute long solos and they are fun to play. But I hate how they get so much credit when they can't play their own stuff live half the time and speed their music up. But this is a pretty kewl song. They should just be more diverse with their riffs and stop speeding up solos.

You know they got their chorus progression from the Pachelbel Canon transposed to G, but I am a 'Force fan and know that just like movies and book that it is not about the story itself but how it is told. And applying it to this song, the solo's, lyrics, all the added elements, the verse, and most certainly the passion, make this song one of my favourites of all music.
No the whole Inhuman Rampage tour sucked. The Sonic Firestorm tour they were good and the Ultra Beatdown tour is amazing. Check them out live Graspop 2009

Hmm, unfortunately for me I guess, I got into them late '07 (I remember cause i'm sad haha) and all I heard was Inhuman Rampage, and I remember Ultra Beatdown coming out, and being rather disappointed with it. Is their old stuff better?

I love this song. This is Dragonforce before guitar hero recognized them (also known as: When they were good). This is my favorite song by them and the rest of this album and Sonic Firestorm are amazing. After that, they have sucked ever since. I can't stand them now, but I love their old stuff. It's guitar heros fualt for destroying their music in my opinion. LONG LIVE DRAGONFORCE BEFORE INHUMAN RAMPAGE!!

@underoath9952 Yeah I gotta agree with you. I fucking love DF and everything about them but Ultra Beatdown just didn't do it for me. All the songs sound too different from their original style, the reason I loved them to begin with, and it just sounds like fancy guitar playing with a bunch of keyboards thrown in now. It really sucks.

I like Dragonforce because they make good solos, they do real solos as well, none of that 10 second, 2 bar crap they make 3 minute long solos and they are fun to play. But I hate how they get so much credit when they can't play their own stuff live half the time and speed their music up. But this is a pretty kewl song. They should just be more diverse with their riffs and stop speeding up solos.

I can't stand dragonforce now but I loved them on this album.
Every one of their songs nowadays sounds like a copy of through the fire and flames. Which isn't nessesarliy their fault (and I know I spelled that wrong ha). Record companies will make you do shit like that. Anyway... This is a killer song.

You know they got their chorus progression from the Pachelbel Canon transposed to G, but I am a 'Force fan and know that just like movies and book that it is not about the story itself but how it is told. And applying it to this song, the solo's, lyrics, all the added elements, the verse, and most certainly the passion, make this song one of my favourites of all music.

I saw them live in November, it was amazing.
People say they can't play live because they turned up to one concert drunk, years ago.. they've improved a lot.
I couldn't really hear any major differences to the CDs when I saw them live.

No the whole Inhuman Rampage tour sucked. The Sonic Firestorm tour they were good and the Ultra Beatdown tour is amazing. Check them out live Graspop 2009
