That was pretty neat, thanks for taking the time to put it on youtube! I'm just getting into making videos for youtube and designing backgrounds through CS5, amazing what you can do with free tools though! Wish i could build custom website templates for free.
@Noahman664 To use the in-world building tool doesn't cost any money. If you want to create content in a 3-D modelling program such as Blender, you will need to upload that, which costs ten linden dollars (which is about 3.6 cents). You will also need to pay to upload any textures you want to use. This plane uses no textures and no 3-D models (or "sculpted prims"), so it didn't cost a dime to build. So the answer is no, you don't have to pay to build, but you can make better stuff if you do.
@rebantus This was entirely built using the tools that Second Life has built-in, for building with primitive shapes like blocks and spheres, no external programs are needed.
No, it's actually a whole little pile of scripts, and since I didn't make them, I don't feel comfortable copying them out of SL and posting them somewhere. Sorry.
Not really? Second Life is a full-on virtual world, a massive multiplayer environment where people chat, build, play, and do other stuff. It's a huge environment, a lot more going on than just a physics sandbox.
My plane was built without a plan, just something I threw together in about 20 minutes to show my Dad how the building tools in Second Life work. Anyway, I wasn't trying to make an aerodynamically correct model, I was trying to make a nifty looking plane.
The music I got from Newgrounds Audio Portal, it's two songs by Denny Schneidemesser (danman87) edited together - Entering the Stronghold, and then The Gift.
wow nice build! i need help scripting a plane, im struggling with the angle of flight compared to my position in the plane, if anyone can offer any advice just IM me in game (Stewmacher Stand)
All I did in this vid (which you can pretty much see) is drag the scripts from the HC-1 Halcyon into my plane, those scripts are full permission, and make for a plane that flies very nicely. Of course, for a commercial product you probably don't want to be just lifting some scripts from a freebie and shoving them into your product. I'm not a scripter, so I'm really no help in that regard. Sorry.
If you can send me an airplane script, I will appreciate it! Or you can give me directions to where you got the HC-1 Halcyon. I could really use it for my plane. Thank you
now you should make a flying penis

That looks crazily complicated.. I just like to use the simple game ones like Blockland.

your plane wouldn't fly well or turn well in the real world and it would be slow to boot. still cool

There's something you forgot, you should add an anti-griefing shield or add npv mode if they strike, your gone.
