  • And I thought the Emergency Broadcast System tones in the United States were creepy...

  • 0:24~新潟県中越地震・・・・・・

  • What Earthquake Is This

  • こうなれば、日本は終わる…。

  • こわいよ~

  • 何がどうなってるの?

  • 最後の和歌山の地震では、津波警報による実質的に緊急警報放送発報の予告してましたね。

  • huh they do speak english evern during a tsunami/ tidal wave warning on japanese tv

  • at the end of the video, it says tidal wave warning in english, and on subchannel 2 or radio 2. alot of people didn't know english during that ttime. sadly, some people did die.

  • @lukasm7

    0:00-0:17 Geiyo 2001

    0:17-0:39 Chuetsu 2004

    0:39-1:16 2002?

    1:16- Kii Peninsula 2004

  • ピロロロロロロロロロロロロロロロロロロロロロ・・・・怖いチャイム・・・

  • 最初の映像は芸予地震の時のやつか・・・・

  • Once I phoned to Japan and there was that "ring-ring-" voice on the line.

  • If anyone can give an english translation, it would be great.

  • It's alert for earthquake and tsunami. The red and yellow line coasts are in high or less in danger of tsunami. In both cases, it's better to run away from coast as soon as possible. And the beep signal automatically wakes up TV (if it is equipped with a special receiver) and you can notice an earthquake occurs.

  • also the beeping tone is Japan's version of the EAS. A bit more attention grabbing than the US's "BAAAAAAAAAANT! BAAAAAAAAAAAANT! BAAAAAAAAAAAAANT! BLEEEEEE...."

  • the ring ring noise means only one thing Amber Alert!

  • whats the amber alert

  • In the US, it means that a child is missing or kidnaped.

  • Translation: Look out for Godzilla!!!

  • nah, that was from Okushiri in 1993, The 2004 Tsunami was on Banda Aceh in Indonesia

  • allahuekber

  • During my 4 years of experience living in Japan, I would say that these happen fairly frequently across the country, but not that common in the Tokyo/Kanto area maybe if you are lucky once every other month if even that.

  • What's that "ring-ring" voice and the map of Japan? What does it mean ?

  • damn even the EAS in Japan is a lot differnt there than the USA. i bet the Amber Alert tone sounds differnt too if they have the Amber Alert in Japan

  • Japanese know when they here that, HEAD FOR THE HILLS!!

  • everyday japan

  • Was this the warning for the tsunami in 2004?

  • when we had the tornado in 1998, KDKA broke right into the lame soap Opera to bring the warning. they didn't go off the air until 12:30 that night. Mind you, this was about 5:00 in the afternoon when it happened.

  • That alert tone scares me.

  • It's better than America's, that's for sure.

  • Why Is Japan baseball player in the video

  • Maybe, this video was an earthquake news flash generated in Hiroshima Japan at 15:27 March 24 2001. This disaster called "Geiyo earthquake 2001" and earthquake scale Mw6.7.

At this time, it seems that tv live show of high school student's baseball tournament.

  • TV live show? Please, work on your English.

  • They were probly in the middle of a baseball game when the Emergency Alert went out.

I think i'd be severly wetting/loading my pants if that happened out here.
