Nintendo announced a new Mario game for the 3DS at GDC. All the pics that were shown look like Gamecube graphics, and the gameplay looks ULTRA similiar to the Super Mario Galaxy series. I think that in mid-development of this game, Nintendo realised that it wasn't right to put SMG on DS(graphics so bad you can see the pixels, rather small limit of memory, etc.), so they switched to 3DS. Excpect SMG3D at E3 2011!

@andrezlatin, I personally think that the game's gonna be a mix of gameplay from all the following games: SMB3, Super Mario World, SM64, Super Mario Sunshine, both SMGs, and both New Super Mario bros. games. Basicly, I believe it will be a mix of many previous Mario 3d platformers.
