The 80's were really the Best in music. My favorite artists of that period are Madonna, Bryan Adams, Belinda Carlisle, Laura Branigan, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, George Michael, Sandra, Sade, Samantha Fox, Boney M, Cher, Dolly Parton, Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, Bonnie Tyler, Depeche Mode, Bon Jovi, A-HA, Chris Isaak, X Japan, Taylor Dayne, Debbie Gibson, Modern Talking and Cyndi Lauper
Im only 9. But im a 80's boy! XD All the music made today is based on the old classics (Some plain rip offs).. So why dont all just listen to the real stuff from the 80s/70s? Back then when you used instruments to make music!

Good little collection here. Thanks for posting. Though, Electricity by OMD was released in 1979, though I do kind of understand you putting it in this collection, cos it does fit. Just thought I'd let you know.
They shouldn't be here. Why? In 80's there were more than one isolated music worlds and let it stay that way. I like the Cure too, but they don't belong to this compilation.
To the person below: Visage Fade to Grey was written and recorded in 1980 and was a hit in 1981. Definately 80's. 70's was more disco than 80's. Nice try.

Alphaville's best (IMO) is "Forever Young", the original cut, not that crappy re-mix they made for clubs. The whole "Forever Young" album is awesome (the song they played on the radio where I lived was "Big in Japan"- way overplayed). It seems all the great New Romantics were in Europe, so those of us in the US had to wait and wait for the good stuff to hit.
