Yes, I agree that the ending wasn't the most satisfying and all of the questions weren't answered fully. But for six whole years, LOST had millions of people glued to their television screens. So what if we didn't get the answers we were looking for? The show wasn't just about the mysteries - it was about how the characters developed and relationships formed. Personally, LOST has taken me on such an incredible journey and I'm so grateful for that. Thank you so much for such an amazing six years.

@StackyTacky He can't move on because of what he did to Ana Lucia and Libby. They explained that. The writers wanted Mr. Eko to be in the church, but the actor that played him (can't remember his long ass name) demanded WAY too much money. So they just decided not to have him.

I love LOST!!!! its the best thing in the world!!!! i almost cried when it came towards the ending:( I wish it were a never ending show. i have all the seasons so i can keep watching it over and over again. i have the whole set. @tfla11 Hurley dies too, The island life is real the church life is the purgatory, the losties did not die at the same time they all died at different times but met up together in purgatory. For example, Jack died on the island but kate and sawyer might have died 40 years later and met up with jack and the other losties in purgatory.
For those saying it was a parellel universe, that could be the case. But to one comment saying they all died on the plane. Is untrue, because if each individual were to accomplish something how come the black father and son werent in heaven (forgot their names)
I think this final scene represents that final idea of what happens during ones death. The idea that endorphin's are released in the brain and we see our own version of what one would define as passing on in our final moments- basically, a hallucination. And in Jack's final moments he reunites with everyone as they all pass on together- which is a pretty powerful scene when you opt out religious belief.

However, as human beings, we will never truly find out how everything ends until we die. In life there are some things we can never understand and it is up to us to guess, just like the ending of this show.
The night when the show was over I played Life And Death over and over again while I laid in the corner of the shower. I was crying... You can take it as you want, but Lost is the only series that have affected me deeply, in a positive way of course. The only good news today regarding LOST is that you always discover new things when you rewatch it. Everytime I feel lonely, nervous or sad I turn on the Life And Death song and then I can relax.

They all died at various different times in their lives - Kate could have lived to be 80 when she got off the island. But then they all reunited in a sort of purgatory, a place for them all to be find each other, and then they all went to the afterlife together.

They lived in that universe because they all had someone to accomplish and learn before they all passed over so when they died in the universe they didn't pass over quite yet. They found all the bodies in the plane at the bottom of the ocean when it crashed.
I just don't understand why they showed the wreckage of the plane at the very end. And all of the strange things going on when they were on the island, and why they showed the futures of the characters when it wasn't even true. Like why did it show that aaron was jacks baby? And that Jack and kate get married. He dosent even live to ever see her again in real life, only in heaven. I don't get it.

@Awesome1271 No, they made it. The writers just meant that everybody dies at some point, y'know? They & JJ Abrams really were trying to provide a creatively truthful and more hopeful take on death. Sometimes you die young, alone, in pain, afraid, hopeless, but when there's the prospect of finding the people you really need afterward, death doesn't have as much sting. It's still sad, which is something I appreciate them showing (Jack crying when he realizes he's dead, Sawyer living w/o Juliet).

@NextGenGameSystem The Flash Sideways was actually a kind of Purgatory where they all waited for each other to remember/find one another. The scenes where everyone starts to remember were awesome but Jack's with his father and the coffin made me tear up.
i have been watching lost for honestly the short space of 1month and when it finished i actually cried tears of joy. i guarantee any who watches it season to season will cry too. the ending is just so beautiful,to see Charlie again was so amazing. especially the fact Claire isn't some crazy lady looking for Aaron.
the fact that in the afterlife they meet the people they spent the best times with must give everyone a better take on death

Cried the first time I saw this on ABC, cried when I found it on YouTube. The end is just so simple and beautiful. Everyone just fixed their sh*t and then they all could move on.
Everyone says that at the end the plane represents something or whatever, I think it's just answering the question of how Sawyer, Kate, Claire, Miles, Richard & Lapidus died. The last scene they were in was the one when the plane was flying off the island with them in it. I think the crash scene is just showing how they died. The plane obviously crashed for some reason killing off those characters.

For a long time LOST was the best TV I think i've ever known. The 5th series was a farce though. They milked the fuck out of that show based on a storyline lasting 2 series. Lesson learned I hope.
Too many people make the mistake of thinking that lost was all about the mystery, lost was always about the characters, the relationships and the struggles, the conflicts and the triumphs. It was about people, and how fate brings them together.

@Sand1ingMan john tries to destroy the island then he dies and jack desmond jacob ben and hugo go to that cave to stop the island destroying, desmond goes in but jack feels he won't make it so he goes in and lets hugo take care of the island. jack goes in and rescues desmond and then he stops destroying the island but then he had to die. the scene in the beginning is heaven according to his dad is the place and people that jack wants to be with since he lived its best time of the life with them.
@984beto lol the monster, not "John". Since when was Jacob at the cave with Desmond, Ben, and Jack? And it's not so much "heaven" as a place that the survivors consciously created in order to work through their issues and move on, more like purgatory in a sense.
I cried so hard after this episode :'( I never missed a episode since it aired in 2004 when I was 11 years old, I grew up watching it and it was very emotional for me to have to see it end. but after 6 years of insane irony and unanswered questions the finale freaking nailed it. better than any movie ever made!
the part that really gets me every time is the dog. hes not sad or worried, he simply lays there like a good bro and waits, like theres no point in being sad over it... damn i love dogs :(
This beautiful song, the way that Jack remembers, makes me think. I remember how amazing and important was Lost in my life. This is best ending scene i've ever seen.

@NextGenGameSystem The Flash Sideways was actually a kind of Purgatory where they all waited for each other to remember/find one another. The scenes where everyone starts to remember were awesome but Jack's with his father and the coffin made me tear up.

i have been watching lost for honestly the short space of 1month and when it finished i actually cried tears of joy. i guarantee any who watches it season to season will cry too. the ending is just so beautiful,to see Charlie again was so amazing. especially the fact Claire isn't some crazy lady looking for Aaron.
the fact that in the afterlife they meet the people they spent the best times with must give everyone a better take on death

Cried the first time I saw this on ABC, cried when I found it on YouTube. The end is just so simple and beautiful. Everyone just fixed their sh*t and then they all could move on.

Everyone says that at the end the plane represents something or whatever, I think it's just answering the question of how Sawyer, Kate, Claire, Miles, Richard & Lapidus died. The last scene they were in was the one when the plane was flying off the island with them in it. I think the crash scene is just showing how they died. The plane obviously crashed for some reason killing off those characters.

@LPboy77 omg no you must watch the last season! 1. You won't understand ANYTHING anyone will explain to you if you don't watch the last season, it has a lot to do with the black smoke, jacob, richard, and all the weirdness of the island. 2. The last season is amazing, don't ruin it for yourself!

For a long time LOST was the best TV I think i've ever known. The 5th series was a farce though. They milked the fuck out of that show based on a storyline lasting 2 series. Lesson learned I hope.

Too many people make the mistake of thinking that lost was all about the mystery, lost was always about the characters, the relationships and the struggles, the conflicts and the triumphs. It was about people, and how fate brings them together.

@Sand1ingMan john tries to destroy the island then he dies and jack desmond jacob ben and hugo go to that cave to stop the island destroying, desmond goes in but jack feels he won't make it so he goes in and lets hugo take care of the island. jack goes in and rescues desmond and then he stops destroying the island but then he had to die. the scene in the beginning is heaven according to his dad is the place and people that jack wants to be with since he lived its best time of the life with them.

@984beto lol the monster, not "John". Since when was Jacob at the cave with Desmond, Ben, and Jack? And it's not so much "heaven" as a place that the survivors consciously created in order to work through their issues and move on, more like purgatory in a sense.

I cried so hard after this episode :'( I never missed a episode since it aired in 2004 when I was 11 years old, I grew up watching it and it was very emotional for me to have to see it end. but after 6 years of insane irony and unanswered questions the finale freaking nailed it. better than any movie ever made!
