  • Moe died of lung cancer.R.I.P Moses "Moe"Howard (June19,1897-May 5,1975).Larry died of a stroke,Curly died of a brain hemorage due to a massive stroke, and Shemp died of a massive heartattack.

  • I loved Larry. Loved all the stooges. Really cool that you put this on here.

  • @camvantasco Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • They truly sacrificed for their art...and it was.

  • @bgpcdoctor Agreed. The Stooges never seemed to worry about being typecast. They were Stooges and proud to be so.

  • It so sad hearing him. You can tell he is in really bad shape. Glad he did the interview, but it's so sad. You can tell death isn't far away.

  • To me,he was the funniest stooge.

He was comedic perfection from his voice to his hairline.

  • youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=CKzgbrfn9bw

  • i knw he passed away bt i jst found ot yesterday was his bday happy late bday larry if he still alive today he would be 109

  • you are dearly loved because larry fine is a comedy legend along with the rest of the stooges

  • I loved Moe, Larry, Shemp, & Curly, and all the other stooges. Meaning all the regulars that would appear time and time again in their reels. I couldn't imagine life without them. They enriched my life with all their shenanigans!!!

  • Larry sounds like he smoked a a big fat joint and is high, in this video.

  • @relimes Probably because he had a stroke sometime before this interveiw, and was nearly paralyzed. So he couldn't exactly help it.

  • My late paternal grandfather was like Larry Fine. They both suffered paralyzing strokes resulating in garbled speech. My grandfather was 65 years old when he died on April 7,1987 almost ten years after the stroke. RIP both of you

  • As a kid I dreamed about the Stooges and being a part of their surreal antics. Larry was an indispensible part of the magic. His reactions are classics. Funniest moment - a seemingly one legged Larry selling Brighto. Sorry says the cop, didn't see the leg was gone (it's out of sight through a hole in the fence). War wound asks the constable. No, answers Larry, banana peel.

  • I wish they had an interview like this with Curly

  • god bless larry, moe, curly, shemp and the rest of the stooges, they were the best!!!

  • Love all of you Stooges. Thank you.

  • I love Larry. Certainly my favorite Stooge.

  • The Best :)

  • how did larry die angia and tell me what happed

  • What a handsome, charming picture of him. Good upload.

  • My favorite Stooge. Thanks for posting this.

  • Larry Fine passed away on January 24th, 1975; Moe followed a few short months later on May 4th, due to lung cancer; the book Larry mentions, "Stroke of Luck," came out in 1973; the cowriter/publisher scammed Larry, and Larry never got any profits; so this interview must be late 1973, early 1974

  • Larry was the best!! And I'm sure he is Ringo Starr's biological father!!

  • Happy birthday, Larry.

  • All the Stooges had something to bring to the table! I couldn't imagine my life without them! Shemp and Moe is my favs!

  • r.i.p, btw when was this?

  • Larry got a stroke??

  • @kakitembak23 Yes, sometime in 1968 if I recall right. He finally passed away shortly before Moe, sometime in 1975, which is the same year Moe also passed away. I remember hearing about both of their deaths when I was around 11 in 1975.

I remember I was being driven to school by my mom the day Moe's death was on the radio. It was a nice warm sunny morning. It's like it was yesterday.

  • @Shawnster65 Tom Bergeron was born in 1955, and if this interview is from 1968 than that would make him only 13 at the time. I thought this interview was from like 1974-1975?

  • @classifiedinfo True. Bergeron would be a younger man.

I was more referring to 1968 being the year that Larry had his stroke, and not the year of the interview with Larry. Larry did indeed pass away in 1974 or '5. shortly before Moe.

  • @Shawnster65 Larry Fine had his stroke in 1970 when the Stooges were filming a TV pilot called, "Kook's Tour". This interview is sometime after that. I would guess '71 or later.

  • @cbc51 Oh ok. So while I may have gotten the date of Larry's illness wrong,

I believe everything else is as was said. In the book "Moe Howard And The Three Stooges" which was a memoir written by Moe and his son and law Norman Maurer, it said that both he and Larry died not far apart, 1974 and 1975 respectively, IF I read the book right.

  • @kakitembak23 He had a series of strokes, actually. The first, which happened in 1970, ended his career as a Stooge, as it paralyzed his left side and took away his speech for a while. A second stroke further slurred his speech and another rendered him totally paralyzed. I think he had a total of four before he finally died.

  • @cbc51 it's been said that Shemp suffered at least 2 strokes some time before he passed away

  • Comment removed

  • @yryriza Actually, Shemp died from a heart attack, but they were all untimely demises.

  • @dodadue89 You're right. I goofed. I was reading about them all one day and Curly and Larry havinf strokes I guess made me remember all had strokes.

  • Larry Rules!!!!

  • After an artillery shell explodes close to them, they go into a restuarant.

The waiter says to Moe, " Can I take your coat?"

Moe says to Larry, " What did he say?"

Larry says, " He said that you smell like a goat!"

  • Larry Fine was a freakin' genius! A brilliant man and a brilliant talent. This interview is a true gem.

  • im very happy,,,,i remember them very well....kisses

  • Larry (inside a hunting cabin with the others where Moe went because he needed relaxation): "Hey, fellows, I bet this place is fine for hunting"

Moe: "How do you know that?"

Larry Fine: "There's a sign outside - says "Fine for Hunting !"

  • Larry Fine selling Brighto: If you have a knicknack with a nick in it, we'll knock the nick outta the knicknack with Brighto!

  • Larry and the others maybe gone but never forgotten. The best in comedy!

Three Stooges forever! Making us laugh here and up there

  • "But Moe I've got a weak back."

    "When did you get that?"

    "Oh, about a week back."

  • we love you larry...thanks for bringing so much joy to many lifes....

  • Very painful to listen to this, knowing that this was after Larry had his stroke. Larry was a mensch nonetheless.

  • It is especially painful to hear Larry answer the question about whether or not he still plays the violin: "not since I've been paralyzed." So sad. What a genius.

  • Is there a part 2?

  • No, Larry's is only one part. Sorry but that's all there was.

  • Happy b-day Larry, he would have been 107 today!

  • Nice find!

  • dodadue89,

Thank you so much for posting this. I'm sure for years to come stooge fans will find this interview here fascinating.

    All the best,

    Dan

  • I briefly dated Ted Healy's granddaughter back in the '80s when I lived in Atlanta, so I'm practically related to the Three Stooges ... in my mind.

  • Larry was so great. He could get a laugh just getting slapped in the face.
