I guess i said that wrong. I don't hate the song, but I didn't like David singing it. He should have sang another song. Completely wrong song for him to sing. Need proof? One of the best singers to walk through idol, and he was eliminated after 2 weeks.

He may be "pitchy" in places like randy said, but I strongly believe it's just nerves. If you listen closely to the way he uses his voice, plus that sound quality that he has, I think he could be a pretty good recording artist. Seriously though, he should have chosen some other path instead of american idol to get into the music business. To me, he's more of a serious rnb/soul singer rather than a pop singer.

@marquis1835 I remember watching this live and I didn't think it was his best effort. As I watch it years later, I have come to the conclusion that the volume on his mic was too low. I see him belting out the song and you can barely hear him over the music. Over the years I've also factored in that my expectations were very high because of the "bar he set" with his audition. Not many days go by that I don't listen to his audition because it was just that good! Still the best, IMO.
