I think, as mainstream as homosexuality is now, it's still a minority. I don't see the issue with movies being targeted mainly to that audience but I don't see them being blockbusters if you have explicit male gay scenes. Female, as discussed in the video, always works and is personally approved by myself but male gay scenes is a very specific target audience, and if it became any kind of norm, we'd quickly forget why Brokeback Mountain was anything special...not that I really give a shit. xD

Hollywood doesn't hate anything. Look, most people are not homosexual, and though most reasonable people have no problem with gay marriage, most of straight people aren't comfortable seeing gay sex. Hollywood goes for critical mass. I think lesbian scenes are more accepted because men like it, and there is a higher acceptance of lesbian scenes among women than gay scenes among men.

There was basically no skin in the Brokeback sex scene, and there's acres of it in straight scenes, or in the Black Swan scene. And the Brokeback scene is seconds long, and straight and lesbian scenes are minutes long.
