That's The Billy we all love he is the real deal..what you see it what you get.I have had the pleasure of a BIlly Joe hug.Its like a preacher hugging you after a service.
Of course Billy does a great job on this song, he lived it & he wrote it!!! Ashton, he has ALWAYS outdone Willie & Waylon and ALWAYS WILL! This song i's deeply dear to my heart, I've seen him do it many times & this one is especially sweet and the first time I've seen him do the Homer & Jethro song with it, a true delight!!! Just Google BillyJoeShaver to see his tour schedule. Lots of his best stuff isn't even on Utube!!!
saw Shaver supporting Willie and Waylon in Australia back in 1993. I'd never heard of the band before that, and they completely out-did W and W. I went straight out and bought the Tramp On Your Street album. Heavy metal honky tonk at its finest
I sure hope I can one of these days. My boyfriend saw him at a small club in Nashville several years ago. In the audience were Johnny Cash and John Prine. Thank you for the comment, and I'll do my best to find him somewhere around here.
Thank you Billy Joe for this song, as well as all of your others. God bless you, and Eddy. My favorite thing to do is play my guitar, and sing along with your albums. Maybe one day I'll be able to see/hear you in person. I am truly a tramp on your street.
Spend what you have to, but see Mr. Shaver in person at a good arena. He's a rare breed - very personable with a winning smile. Quite a life story too - one of the original honky tonk heroes who wrote 90% of Waylon's outlaw country album. btw - Jeremy Woodall is fantastic on the guitar - Billy Joe's son Eddy would be proud.
THIS IS WHY I HATE BARS, A BUNCH OF FU%$IN RETARDED NO PLAYIN DRUNK ASS REDNECKS!!!!!!

Do all those loudmouths in the background realize that they are in the presence of a living legend or is just impossible for them to shut the f up?

A favorite Billy Joe song....anyone who questions whether he's the real deal hasn't run into him.
I first heard him singing at 20 and I still listen to him at 57. A long highway that he's helped write the soundtrack for .
Go see him live !!!!!
