Too hard on the front break and unlucky his bike slips out when it hits the yellow line I think he would have been alright if he hadn't caught that line, you can see by the slow mo and the skid marks that he only loses control when it hits the line. However, most of your braking should be done before the corner, and the harder you are leant over the less you can use brakes. Also avoid braking, hard accelerating, and hard cornering on painted lines - they offer less traction than tarmac. Moral of the story:- don't brake so hard your wheel locks up, don't brake hard in corners, don't brake or corner hard on painted lines.

ok, some facts:- well he clearly brakes @ 1:34 coz you see his brake lights come on, the bike nosedives shortly after showing he is increasing front brake pressure, the brake is applied so hard you can see the skid mark on the tarmac @ 1:38, he loses traction on the front end when on the yellow lines painted on the road then drops the bike. You can use front or rear in a corner - I prefer rear coz its easier to catch if it steps out than the front

there had to be something on the road. He didnt pump the brake, and there was not enough lean angle to tuck the front like that. I dont think this was rider error. Ive definetly put the front brake on, at higher speeds, ant more lean angle. Hell...thats what trail breaking is all about. U just got a rough deal that day. Hope the bike was ridable.

@352BallaBoy When you get close to your maximum deceleration the back tire becomes nearly weightless. This is why I think it's dangerous to get used to using a whole 30% of the rear brakes because they will lock up if you apply this in an emergency. It will work under normal circumstances but for emergency, only lightly tap the rear brakes (not more than 10%). I practiced emergency stops and it was quite amazing how easy it is to lock the rear tire once put the front brakes to full use.

This same shit happened to me.. dude in front of who ive never rode with before pumped his brakes for some damn reason and i was a mid-lean, and i barely breaked and the bike came out from under me. Till this day i no longer ride in big riding groups. Just 2-3 people max. Expensive lesson learned for me :(

@dervydog I've never ridden one of those crotch rocket type bikes, I don't know. One thing that seemed to me though was that back tire seemed WAY too slippery. Maybe the brakes on those bikes are way more sensitive than I'm used to, and using the front brake made the rear tire light, but it seems to me that it shouldn't have slid out at that low speed. One time my back tire "chirped" but I was too fast in a turn. I've never seen a wreck like this at this low speed.

@jwhitner it honestly doesnt take that much for something like this to happen... the "big" brakes on bikes now adays are quite capeable of locking up the front tire at a moments notice and you will be on the gound before you know it happened to me the other day but i was riding home in a rain storm so the road was slick to begin with. as far as why he locked up the brakes it better have been for something good to justify wiping out his bike for it lol
