  • Good thing they have there safety helmets on!!.. Just in case they fall off they won't get hurt!.. -.- Fml smh

  • @MrWhyweskate The helmets are so they don't accidentally hit their heads and KO themselves!

  • I bet he's got a firm handshake like no other. :^)

  • Fuck climbing that whole thing, I'd rather ride up on a helicopter and then just jumping out to the top.

  • Mexicans would do anything for a dollar................

  • been there, done that

  • caspian border tower

  • @dakanister23

Battlefield fag, this isn't even related to that children's game in anyway.

The one in battlefield just a poorly modelled giant stick

  • @ccaian1 sir please do not insult me, and i am not homosexual in any way, thus how can u call me a fag. Furthermore, i was just observing that this somewhat reminded me of that caspian border tower. Have a happy new year!

  • I could do that, while shitting my pants.

  • i wouldve peed on my partners head!

  • is he climbing with just his hands? :O looks like he's dragging himself up, not using his feet

  • "his climbing partner". huh huh.

  • i would love to try that

  • nice tutorial, I think Ill go try it......

  • seems safe.

  • aww HELL NO!

  • STOP LOOKING DOWN.

  • 3:50 - "We're done, right?"

"Naw, see that 2-inch pipe next to you? climb up that."

  • All of these comments are exactly how I felt throughout the video.

  • They should hire base jumpers to do this

  • "If the storm is blowing, there's no quick way down."

    I can think of one...

  • @LuckySharm farewell cruel world.... FUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuu-

  • @LuckySharm base jumping

  • Nutsy. I'd go wearing a chute or not at all, and even then...

  • id bring me a Wing Suit

  • i wonder how much these guys make per hour....

  • I actually found it hard to breathe while watching this... yet I could not stare away from the fullscreen...

  • Would you be allowed to base jump down if you brought a parachute?

  • Holy motherfucker what the hell.

  • Fuck that shit

  • oh dear god fuck why

  • wtf is there to do up there every day?

  • why.

  • AHHHH! NOPE!

  • I got so fucking stressed watching this. NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE.

  • An elevator ride to 1600 ft? so a 168 ft hike? why wouldnt you just use safety lines for a 168 ft climb? The oil-rig derrick i climb for work is over 100 ft high and we ALWAYS tie off. seems like point-less risk if you ask me.

  • stop climbing up there. Come back down. You should stop that.

  • CRAZY SHIT

  • Fuck. That.

  • I bet that's the place Spider-Man has his lunch.

  • I would vomit.

  • *gets to top, realizes he forgot the new lightbulb*

    FFFFFUUUUUU

  • i hope they're equipped with parachutes everytime they climb up there? this is the scariest shit ever..

  • im sure what ever you get a hour, SURE THE HELL isnt enough

  • flashback!

  • This is scarier and more suspenseful than all of the Paranormal Activities put together.

  • @wpwilliford Yes. Cause this is real.

  • @wpwilliford are you actually serious?? what kinda comparison is that??

  • hey boss can i wear a parachute?

    "no"

    i quit.

  • @k2477456 lol

  • @DranQNitrouS

    I did. Repeatedly.

  • imagine droppin ur tool from way up there?

  • They don't pay this man enough fucking money

  • That's not a bag beneath him it's his balls, they must be huge. Any idea were this tower is?

  • Are they just going up there to change the strobe light!?!? That's got to be the most expensive light bulb in the world to change.

  • i can stand at height with PPE .. no problem ...

but with this tower,,1768 feet.. wou~~ i m not sure i can make it o not..

  • 6:59 the guys is standing on the very fucking top and for a second isn't holding on to anything while he is playing with his safety thingy.

I mean these people are crazy

  • Olha num encaro não, ja subi até no maximo 130 mts, mais e muito cansativo na subida,

  • I would have been screaming in the elevator!

  • nope nope nope nope nope

  • Clearly this guy did not listen to the public service announcements at the end of G. I. Joe's.

  • "Yay I'm at the top....wait where are my tools?"

  • Now change the bulb and climb back down.I did ths work for quite a while myself until I got tired of all the travelling. Two things I learned: 1.Safety lines can kill you. 2.Chicks will worship you when you tell them what you do for a living.

  • @stnwllstv What was the pay like?

  • @RemoteCellularUnlock Well, several years ago you could earn $60-80k/yr after you got a few years under your belt.Alot of that income is per diem pay but income is income and reputable companies usually pay a per diem well in excess of what you'll actually need.If you're thinking of doing this you should know that the work is grueling, often scary and always very dangerous. And the video doesn't do a good job of showing just how high this guy actually is.

  • @stnwllstv Wow those workers should be making at least 100k a year.

I am shit scared of heights and I would NEVER take that job lol..

I understand your point about the video not describing the actual height but even this video is unsettling.

  • @RemoteCellularUnlock Hell they might make that by now.Something else the video doesn't show is that that bitch is most likely swaying and twisting quite a bit, especially way up there on that flimsy ass antennae. But yeah,it makes my stomach roll too and I've been right where he is several times myself. It's damned near impossible to get a cigarette lit up there too because of the wind.Nothings funnier than watching 5 guys have a lighter flickfest and cussing contest.

  • @stnwllstv It must be an intense rush when you finally get to the top and the tower is swaying like crazy..

I wouldn't have the brass to even attempt to light a cigarette and I would probably be clamped onto the tower praying the whole time.. Props to you for climbing those towers and thankfully your still alive and well today : )

  • @RemoteCellularUnlock There's always alot of nervous excitement.Climbing is the easy part although tiring.Stacking is what's so sketchy and hanging that damned antennae.Rarely did we ever climb though.Usually we rode the ball on a new stack to save time and energy, then the basket or elevator when it was finished. To actually climb a beast as tall as the one in this video could take as much as half a day and you still have to do the work and climb back down.

  • @stnwllstv That is intense work...

Have you seen this video before: watch?v=Y6bKLfD2a9s

I could never do that lol

  • @RemoteCellularUnlock I wonder how they got up there without getting caught.Somewhere on youtube is a video of a tower collapse that killed I think 7 people. There's not much video of the collapse itself, just of them hauling a section up and it lets go,snapping a guy wire and collapsing the whole tower.Oughta be pretty easy to hunt down. Eerie because in the beginning there's footage of the crew smiling and happy, just before they die. There's footage of the wreckage too.Real mess.

  • @stnwllstv

what about fear? how do you cope with the natural fucking tendecy to stand on the ground?

  • @colloredbrothers You get used to it but it does help to be an adrenaline junkie and a bit of a show off.Funny you'd mention that because when you spend all day up there and come down you can't walk on the ground for shit. And if any of these guys tells you they don't occasionally get very nervous they're lying. The potential for disaster is everywhere, even when working on the ground.

  • At 6:29, when the climber has to get on top of the platform, the commentary says "This is the tricky part."

Yeah, because the first 1767 feet were a piece of cake, of course.

  • it just another job that needs to be done, and someone has to do it. im jobless right now and i wouldnt mind doin this if i was trained money is money :)

  • @liltortillatree You might change your mind around 300'.That's about where most people have to go back down. You can't look at a video or look up at a tower and get a true sense of the extreme height. And when you stack that sucker bends and twists when that load starts coming up the side, especially when you've got alot of unguyed sections standing. It makes for a very creepy feeling that most people, probably 90% that try it,just cannot handle.

  • that would suck to get caught in a thunderstorm

  • who made this?

  • I'd like to see where does OSHA say that freeclimbing is allowed

  • @vleskope they don't. and even if they did 99.9% of all companys have a 100% tie-off policy.

  • @craigeweggie37 No they don't but they don't enforce 100% tie-off on these jobs because in this environment 100% tie-off is actually more dangerous than not tying off.The guy in the video uses a positioning line and companies do insist on this.Absolutely, but NEVER 100% tie-off and OSHA does not expect it either.Barring an accident OSHA rarely if ever even comes to these jobs because they know their codes are impractical and potentially dangerous.

  • stolen video= thumbs down

  • Guyed tower....GUYED (meaning tied down with cables, like a tent fly) not guided!!!!!

  • why was the face of the one climber blurred out.Is he some secret agent of climbing? lol

  • @Rangerbelt Knowing the type of many of these guys that do this he's liable to be wanted somewhere.

  • whatever theyre paying this guy. its not enough

  • who elses hands are sweaty?

  • @claydrummer05 That's what gloves are for

  • the fact is, these guys have no fear of heights whatsoever

  • Wow. Just wow. Brave people for sure.

  • oh my god, no way in hell. Easy part is climbing up, there´s only one way down O_O

  • NOPE NOPE NOPE

  • This is one of the scariest things I have ever seen.

  • I would laugh so hard if they got to the bottom and realized that they'd forgotten their keys on top of the the lighting beacon.

  • goddamn i got chills from watching this shit... brave men, brave men.

  • fuuuuuuuuuuuuu thhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaattttttt

  • It would be awesome if you worked late nights on one of those and then installed a slide which would lead you straight to your bed.

  • Even for 2000$ an hour i wouldnt do it !

  • That's pretty cool, but how the fuck do you cimb to the bottom of a transmission tower? I demand to see a part 2.

  • I'll do it... on 50 pills of e

  • And that's how he changed the bulb

  • 7:09 ... "like a BOSS!"

  • lol at the helmet just in case you fall

  • @IKindlyObject he has to check his feet, is the most important part of climbing

  • my hands started sweating while watching this

  • he should have planked that shit.

  • @jakevaf im thumbs downing you because FUCK NO!

  • Who else had the sick thought of "Wonder what he'd look like if he fell?"

  • FOR CRHIST SAKE MAN GET ANOTHER JOB

  • 2513....Sheppard afb,,witicha falls tx....ohhhhh rahhhhhhhhh! Milt in this bitch.....

  • I cannot watch this video without getting dizzy.

  • I'm scared shitless just watching this video...

  • No harness. Whatever happened to the motto "safety first"? I guess that's just a motto.

  • This is where Voldemort should have hid his horcrux. Silly Harry would never think to find it here!

  • Those men are incredibly brave.

  • CHAOS +1000

  • Nope.

  • If I HAD to do it my ass would bring a parachute atleast.

    Fuck.

  • Holy shit.

  • that looks like fun.

  • why.jpg

  • Comment removed

  • They need to install a Geronimo line, just in case they need to get down quickly.

  • I would probably wear a parachute, then I'd be much less afraid of falling.

  • This has to be the most (for people like me who suffer from vertigo)awful video EVER!Only in my worst nightmare would I even think of being anywhere near this metal monstrosity, let alone UP it !

  • My palms are sweating just looking at this!! O__o

  • so how much do they earn by doing this?

  • subo de olhos fechados ainda , mas com mas segurança o rapaz do filme se garante muito nas mãos dele , olha a lei de marfy hehehehehe

  • I was just up an 85 meter met tower today, for 7 hours, but this makes me ill!! These idiots are definantly supposed to be 100% tied off after being 6 feet off the ground, OSHA regulations!!

  • @theninja001 OSHA mostly steers clear of these jobs because there is no real way to enforce anything more than a minimum safety standard. In this situation using safety equipment is at times more dangerous than ignoring it.It restricts movement, gets hung up in the steel and can pull you off, etc. The guy IS using a positioning line when he stops to breath and this is about all that is required while you're climbing.

  • This makes me sick just watching it :(

  • This is the most impressive footage I've ever seen. I've always been interested in transmission towers but never did I think they did this. I always thought it was them using a helicopter to get up there on a tether and then grabbing the mast. I'll always be greatful knowing how it's done.
