When you really think about it, Cyrus was kinda overdoing it. I don't want any of the Mythbusters motto, k? It's not worth doing! Anyway, if he thought that spirit (emotions) made human beings incomplete, why did he get all maniacal about it? he could just drained his emotions. It's simple, really. A book in the Canalave Library stated that touching Mesprit would cause your emotions to go away. Why didn't he just do that? It made the plot of the game awesome, but still!

@FemaleGallade Simple. Mesprit could possibly have sensed that Cyrus wanted the absence of emotions, so it went and overloaded him with them instead. Thus explaining why he's a bit... loopy in Platinum's climax.
