How do I retrain my old vine in a new direction. I purchased a house with an old vine trained along the fence on the west side of the house. This is the only area that gets sun and I want to plant vegetables on that side of the house as well. We are thinking of re-training the vine. Can the vine trunk be severely cut back so as to be trained to go a different direction?

@crabtrap First off that's not Michael James
gallons of Italian wine in Brooklyn... no
vineyard workers do care what their work looks like
not all vineyards need permanant trellis systems, google "goblet training system"
after your vines are trained you dont sit back and let nature take its course
Nature will eat V. vinifera from roots to tips
I'm Michael James, THE GRAPE MASTER, for your health!
