@uberownageman My thoughts exactly... I can't seem to remove the old locking mechanism.. I've removed a few bits from the top... Or rather the part that would be pointing the furthest towards the inside of the car when it's mounted in place.
You say something about a spring, and I've removed one spring, but it's still 100% stuck and I can't figure how it its staying in place. Any help much appreciated.
@AdrianDX I got the locking mechanism out. There is a thin metal wire keeping the lock attached to the handle. Use a philips to push it down a bit and yank it out with some pliers. The plastic plug I had no idea how to take out. I got the handle from a junkyard without a new plug, I had to take it out in a unique way. If you position the handle in a certain way, you can unscrew it out by turning it, the plug is attached to a bar that is screwed onto another bar. "screw" in the new one.
a good tip you should know about removing the panel is that if you yank it too hard you'll break the rods that clip onto the door, so becareful, unless you bought a new set to replace the broken ones.
At 1:25. How do I remove the door handle from the locking mechanism and door handle control.
