my laptop cooler has legs so you can tilt it in addition to it having fans lol, but i had to take off some of the panels on the bottom cause it still overheated with some games i had running (but my laptop wasnt really designed to play games lol), it runs great now w/ no overheating probs

and the thing that distinguishes when that happens compared to an OS error is that you dont get a blue screen when your computer crashes from an overheat

@punkaaron69 Could you think of a possible explanation as to why when playing an online game after several hours (doesnt happen often) the screen where the game is played goes black and a pop up on the bottom left says that the display driver crashed but has restored itself? BTW, I already have updated my display driver. Thanks!

@dann14555 i had that problem before, though with mine i had to wait a few months for intel to put out a new driver to fix that...

if the driver is current id send an email to the manufacterer's support with as many details about the error as you can. cause its obviously their driver doing that...

@punkaaron69 Thank you for all the help but I have one more question. Im not that knowledgeable when it comes to updating drivers. With the info I gave you, what would my problem be with, the Chipset or Graphics? And how would I know which one to install from the Intel website? Btw when I updated the driver before, I got the driver from Dell, so there it showed the exact one that I needed. At Intel it doesnt. Thank you very much! :)

@dann14555 well i dont really know your laptop, but i think dell would have it cause sometimes computer manufacturers take a driver from intel, or elsewhere (depending on who made your graphics card, or chipset depending on which is in your computer)... so usually the manufacturer of your laptop will have what you need...

and since you are having problems with the latest graphics driver (for your video card, or chipset... whichever your laptop has) id send them an email or contact them

Your CPU, RAM, Battery (especially), HDD, and Monitor all produce varying levels of heat depending on their Watt comsumption. If you use a Intel T9500 (power over efficiency), 4GB ddr2 ram, 9cell battery (85watt hour), and 7200 RPM w/eGB hdd, you're laptop is going to get extremely hot. versus a P8400 (efficient) 2GB ddr2 ram, 9cell batt, 5400rpm w/eGB or SSD (better) HDD which will run a "normal" 80-100 deg F

its becouse it is 2.1 usb,if you dont use ac adaptor the voltage will turn to 1.1. thats why you need ac adaptor to power up the usb,if you dont have 2.1 you cant power up you device like ipods webcams phones usb flash drive........

It needs an AC adapter for you to use USB powered devices out of the multiple usb ports. You'll be able to plug in for example three 2.5" ext hdds to that with an ac adapter whereas you cant without one :)

Almost got it right.

USB port supply up too 2 Amp at 5 Volt each thats maximum output of the USB Port (unless noticed in the laptop manual), But normally 5Volts and a max of 2 Amps.

But again you should be able to usb 1.0 or even USB 1.1 as long as the usb device you are plugging in isn't current hungry

A.C adapter is to supply the USB ports with more current i.e USB 2.0 support

Chris, usb ports provide 500 milliamps of current each! When 500 mA is spread out over 4 ports, the total current between the 4 ports can't exceed 500 mA. For instance, an iPod draws 500 mA, mouse draws 100 mA, and a keyboard draws 100mA, (700 mA total); and you plug them all into a 4 port hub, there won't be enough power for the all devices, unless external power is provided for the hub.
