Get the guy at the counter's head to move extremely slowly (almost frozen)when theguy returns, move like normal. I've done it with teleport, looks good.

export it as a quicktime movie, its imo the best quolity, than you can easily convert it later on for editing (In WMM) or any other program that doesnt import quicktime movies
you can cut it from smallville itself, just the sound and edited with it! it's so easy xD, you can also grab another sounds, like the Kryptonite's, cars, explotions, etc.
you could just use CC force motion blur, speed up the original footage a ton, put the force motion blur shutter at an extremely high amount, and then uncheck the project's settings of only allowing shutter angle of 700 or whatever the max is. It'd get pretty close to it, and save you a lot of time.
would take you like 30 seconds, you don't need that super long-tutorial to do this.
nice. but i might wanna pay attention to the guy who's sitting.when you do the superspeed, he's blinking (jumping to a non continues frame).you should use the freeze technique. tell the sitting guy to freeze when the speedster is running.or you can use the video overlay technique. you shoot the speedster in the left side of the camera, and shoot the sitting guy in different time in the right side of the screen. dont move the camera.better use camera remote
Good point--the key to overlaying effects on a background is that the background can't change when you cut from the normal scene to the effect and back the scene. Just didn't care enough for this project to reshoot it.

Put a mask around a couple of captured frames between the start and end points and then apply a directional blur to simulate the motion.
