Books like The Kite Runner and Afghan Hearts & Minds make people more aware of the great country of Afghanistan. Just the same, this kind of video allows us to understand more about what's truly going on.
i have so much respect for these dudes, would love to be able to do this or SEALs, but i do want a bit of a civilian life, & i'm pursing firefighting. so tomorrow i take a trip down to the army recruiter, to see about joining and possibly in the distant future pursuing special forces in the army. static line jumping and that shit wouldn't be enough for me. i need to stand with the elite, halo freefall, be on sick ass missions and all that good stuff
@shawnster26 hey man i would check out being an officer your are much more of a leader when you are an officer, im not putting down the enlisted but give it a shot, im a future u.s. air force fighterpilot and it will all pay off one day, good luck and my best of wishes to you
im only 12 and i know i wanna do this ive seen all the requirments and i have everything planned. i have such high respect for these guys. Best in the military
As a PJ, You HAVE to be comfortable in the water. If no pool, grab a buddy and swim in the lake,If its cold GREAT!!! Most guys drop because of the mental and if you cant swim your mind is going to tell you to stop. You can NEVER quit EVER!!! You Quit you Die and so do others. If you join PJ's, You will be HOTTER, COLDER, more Tired more sandy, more muddy then you have EVER been in your life!! But if you pass, You will also know that YOU can do ANYTHING
TACP is embedded with army units. CCT is "first there" not TACP or anyone else for that matter. TACP doesnt take over airfields or anything for that matter. They check weather. and PJs are better than CCT and TACP. (in my opinon.)
man im 18 n im gona join the usaf wen i talked to the recruit n asked bout special ops he gave the pamphlet for p.j but i said i cant swim so he took it away tacp is my 2nd choice both r badass but pj's the shit they do is fukn amazing i wish i could swim
967527: even though they took away the pj pamphlet don't mean you can't do it. they will teach you to swim. I whent to an encampment at cherry point and the basic cadets that didn't know how to swim was givin a 30 second crash course then thrown in the combat pool. Pararescue is tough to get into as well. I'm turning 18 in may and I will be going strait to para rescue boot camp cause of a training course i'm about to take. that still don't promise i will be a pj though
once more thing it would help if you started up in a cadet program like civil air patrol and did pjoc and ac first. if you pass those courses if promises you will go to pj training
@967527 bro im in the exact same boat. Im 18 and i also wanna join the airforce and becoming a pararescue seems like the most rewarding. im in pretty good shape but ive been better i have alot of potential and i know this cuz i wrestled for some years. But just like you i cant swim for shit haha. i can swim but barley i really hope i can work on it to become a pararescue if not i think an aerial gunner would fit me well too lol
Learn to swim.. Its not that hard. Take a year to get into the best physical shape of your life. And get more comfortable in water than you are on your feet.
Big time thats where we would lose the most of the canidates in the water. At the OLJ. But once you get through that your pretty much on your way. Good Luck!
Well get your butt in the water and start training you got time, There was this one guy in the class before mine he was bad in the water I mean sucked but he willed himself to make it and got better and overcame it. Just don't quit!
On of the most important things is to build up your lungs and get comfortable being under water and holding your breath, without hurting your self do under waters swim from shallow to deep end underwater or as far as u can then freestyle back give yourself 1 min in between sets start slow and build yourself up this is a building block to getting your underwater and water confidence up! Im 45 and I can still do these all day long once your train your mind your body will follow. Good Luck.
Depends I had lots of the schools before I cross trained but for you about 16-18 months
You can go into right from Basic used to be they would ask for trainees right from basic but you give up your job that you sighed a contract for. or maybe your recruiter can get you a slot
Lots of different ops/missions mainly search and rescue of VIPs/Pilots, ect and important equipment. and extraction. PJs are used on lots of sister service special ops too. Exc combat skills and medics. Good Luck
buddy breathing is when you and your buddy are in the pool and have to share a snorkel and only breathe from that snorkel. The instructor will simulate rough seas by splashing water at them, bringing them down to the pool, shaking them around, smash them together, trying to drown them, spin them around in the water. etc. It usually lasts about 2, 3 minutes. If you come up to breathe more than once, you fail.
Probably the most rewarding job in the AF. And the most fun. Diving, parachuting, bikes, dune buggies, shooting, boats, flying and saving lives. Not to mention being just like SEALs. Who wouldn't want to do this?
Im in school studying robotics in 3 years when i graduate im going the Air force for bomb disposal :D im ganna build the robots to defuse bombs its some sick shit
Everybody pushes it, just most people don't like the water confidence events. Days get longer, events get harder, more is expected, recovery is less. body breaks down, and eventually, the 'weak' are gone. There are no weak ppl who go through this training, and hats off for giving it everything they got.
the good thing is, if your body isn't ready to pass indoc and you fail an eval and retest, you'll get rolled out with the option of doing it again from the beginning. same thing if you get rolled out for an injury. only the quitters dont get to come back
you still can man just call your local recruiter and i got all D in HS and im going to airborne schoo for the army and after that i going for ranger school
yea i know but were there is a will there is a way and im sure they will give you most the medical training... i afraid of needles and all that medical stuff so thats why i couldnt but hopefully i ge accepted into ranger school
As from what I have read, there is no transfering from any branch of service (not even the US branches) so that you can train to be a PJ. You have to leave your current branch, Enlist in the US air force, and then go through Basic training and then the PJ indoc course which is about 10 weeks, and then another nearly 2 years of training before you can actually become a PJ.
Actually, if you have served already, then you don't have to go to basic. You have already been trained the basic skills. Then you go to indoc and Medical training. Overall about 110 weeks of training
You have to go through the "blueing" process. That is what i meant by basic lol. It's like 2 weeks long or so. Teaches you the basic of the air force.
Sorry Forgot to Add A Question Obviously I'm Living In The UK Aged 19, One Of My Mates Lives In US And Going Marines But Me CSAR All The Way, Does Anyone Know If Its Possible To Transfer From UK Unit?
Have The Upmost Respect For The PJ's, Myself I'm Heading For The UK Version RAF Regiment CSAR Unit, Gonna Love It, It Is Annoying When You Get People Saying That Its All Saving No Full On Combat, Well I Would Prefer The Feeling Of Bringing Back Others Then Myself Anyday!.
@GySgtWolf My bro served in iraq as a marine for 2 years and i wanted to join the AF as a PJ. He said to me if its not for people like us, the marines wouldnt be able to do their jobs. Its about re-assurance. You got eachothers backs
great video. I have a nephew that just got deployed to Iraq...this is for him and all the soldiers doing what they got to do over there!!! Proud to be an American!!!!
i leave to basic august 4th, and after that im going to PJ INDOC, took the PAST test in february, man, im lookin forward to this. TYPE A personality is how to describe me, been training for about 5 years, and been intesnly training every day for about 2 years now, senior in HS
i would like to keep in contact with any upcomming PJ's like me. that will be cool if were in the same flight for basic
my dad is a retired air force pj. Staff Seargent Robert Anderson he was in Desert Storm i have so much respect for him and any other pjs. they are the real bad asses. when the seals and marines fuckup who do they call......Thats right The Pjs THAT OTHERS MAY LIVE
don't worry its a good song to some, just don't always listen to the people that bitch there probably just 15 year olds that are spoiled to death. good song and video.
Chair force? lol, pretty badass chair to sit in...In fact, YOU sir, will never see this chair, never know what it looks like, or how it feels. You will never be elite.
Yeah that's all you really should be doing at this point, especially with your leave date so close. Have you been practicing any water confidence? Getting use to being underwater for a long period of time trying to get a task done is probably one of the tougher things to work for. Once you make it through indoc though, things should be cake.
when i made my decision on joining the US Military i was having a hard time deciding which branch to choose. But this is what i have made my choice of wanting to be/do. I'm 29 y/old and i have a daughter. Which the Air Force Policies didn't accept me for being a single parent but i found out that the USAF Reserve will. so now I'm preparing myself b4 hand by jogging and swimming at my aunts pool for at least 25 mins a day. I'm trying my best so that i can be physically and mentally Ready b4 i go.
If you're not an American citizen, you can still join the U.S. military, any branch, as long as you have a Green Card. I would contact your embassy to double check on how to go about getting one if you're serious.
When I was in basic training a girl received her citizenship the day before we graduated. She was a Russian citizen before that day.
Thats not totally true. Some jobs in the US Military require you to either be born a US citizen or have lived in the US for 4 years or more. It all depends on your job, its requirements, and if you are an Enlisted or an Officer. You can not join any branch in the US Military with JUST a Green Card. You must be a "documented and accepted" US Citizen. What you said is all false, and the US Military would not allow her to start the Basic Training.
I was much too general in my statements. The specific citizenship requirement for Pararescue is you must be male and a U.S. citizen.
I am correct about any person being able to join the U.S. military, any branch, as long as they are in possession of a visa or green card (certain jobs excluded obviously). Federal law prohibits non citizens from being commissioned or becoming a warrant officer. Bottom line, don't take my word for it, talk to a recruiter to see if you qualify.
Being too general again, needed to clarify that certain non citizens from hostile countries would require a waiver to enlist. So, technically, not "any non citizen in possession of a visa or green card" would qualify.
In other words, move to the US and Get a citizenship status and its possible....If you wanna go PJ though then you have some high hopes bud....anything is possible but high hopes..If you make it that far i wish you luck and if you ever get to PJ training just remember...."PAIN IS ONLY TEMPORARY QUITING IS FOREVER"!

This unit is one of the most elite units in the WORLDS STRONGEST MILITARY.
Most definately would love to be in this unit, but the work is extreme.
Dropout rate is roughly 90%.
Total training is 1 year and 4 months.
Leaving for BMT as early as next year

thanks bro..just been swimming alot and running lol. thats all i have been doing haha
jeremybenavides 3 years ago

Bottom line, don't take my word for it, talk to a recruiter to see if you qualify.
katnmatt1 3 years ago
Being too general again, needed to clarify that certain non citizens from hostile countries would require a waiver to enlist. So, technically, not "any non citizen in possession of a visa or green card" would qualify.
