yes they do use them and they are way better than any light bar atleast they used to be when they were the halogen two bulb lights the new led ones you see here are not as good

@roadrnr315 well, probably because the dimmer is on, as most led lighting comes with dimmer options...with the dimmer off, it's brighter than hell

Do the Michigan State Police actually use those huge 'ice cream pail' emergency lights on the roof of their pursuit cars? They look..... kinda funny. :D

@chpman2013 I guess the best news for the 'rest of us' is it's pretty easy to spot that huge light in it's silhouette from a LONG way away.

@Miradart well, it's aerodynamic in the sense that it doesn't take up the entire roof line and is round as opposed to straight/ linear
