I think the song really ends where you ended it. After that Rivers just goes into a bit about how his mom ruined his chances at finding love, which I'm sure was beautiful and meaningful for him, but doesn't make a lot of sense in a cover. Great work. You were excellent.

g'day, i'm australian actually. i just sing in the accent the song was written for. australian vowel sounds are really different to american and can sound pretty jarring to the ear, especially in a weezer song. ha. there are a few aussie artists that are writing their songs around their accent, like missy higgins for example, and it works for her. but quite often it can sound plain awful.

yeah i think it's also because a lot of why accents are different is because of the way pitch changes in the middle of sentences, and in a song, the pitch is already decided.
