To say that a procedure is worthless forever because not everyone can access it now is misguided. Heart and kidney transplants used to be only available to the very privileged (All of the early cases still died). Now, in 1st world countries, they are available based on need. This was only possible because rich people effectively paid to pioneer the procedures. In capitalist societies medical procedures take time before they are available to the less privileged.
My son had been diagnosed at age 7 with DDD (dense deposit disease) also known as MPGN Type II . For 11 years under the care of nephrologists in the USA, he was treated with many immuno suppresants but thank goodness we did not allow the use of prednizone steroid therapy which is something the doctors constantly told my ex wife and I was necessary. So after being treated with SCXT ( stem cell xeno transplantation) in July 2009, he immediately exhibited improvement and continues to improve!

I think more work needs to be done to help people of average or low income get treatment. What use is this science if no one can afford the treatment?
My mother died of kidney failure, she was in the working class bracket. She died because the kidneys were given to rich upper-middle class people even thoug she was ahead of them in line. Us worthless workers can just die I guess.
why is stem cells for kidney failure taking such a long time...why haven't they come out with anything yet .all the talking and talking with no actual news of anyone getting cured yet. What is the stage? Tired of the delay...
Hydrangea root and marshmellow root have been proven to relieve pain assoc. with kidney stones in minutes and will dissolve most stones within a few days,,, for about $25,,, research it then u decide
dose anyone knows about claims made by some dr. edward jennings froms texas that he has developed fully functional artificial kidney implant [google it as-implanted kidney] made from anti-coagulant material with patent pending.dose anyone knows about its current status as this report is almost 2 years old.i mean are these claims made by the dr. genuine or he is just playing with a dream?
here in a norwegian hospital I was told to get out of their country and that man yelled @heil hitler@ at us patients / he being a nurse. he still works here the prick. and we are taken care of those prick nurses. i am latin not scandinavian but a citizen of this country. nazis working as nurses? that is a new one
people are desperate for cures pls. this is a hope for those with renal failure. dialysis is not a hope but a slow excruciating and financially draining punishment of a lifetime. pls help. we need this in the philippines. pls help us.
@pomc google it AND also go to rnlbio's youtube channel, Dr. Jin Hong messaged me yesterday that STEM CELL THERAPY IS NOW AVAILABLE IN CHINA, JAPAN, GERMANY!!! You can GO AND GET THE STEM CELL!!!! What they'll do is simply take some of your blood, incubate it and form mesenchymal cells as I understand and then inject it back to you or near your kidney area and hope that it will REGENERATE! You can ask her if they perform kidney regeneration. Watch their clips to see the patient success stories.
this is crap, why would you advertise your competitive product on the cellmedicine channel....i dont see why they dont delete this selfpromotional crap
@paulnagourney competitive product? Are you dumb? Well that was rhetorical obviously, since you didn't get that CoQ10 is not even in the level of mesenchymal stem cell IV. Do you see me selling CoQ10? As far as I know I am the RPhT in this thread and you're a troll.
How long have you been on dialysis now ? hows everything going ? Ive been on dialysis now for 6 years 2 times a week.. no problems. What do you think of stem cell treatments for renal failure ? Oren
These are adult stem cells that we are discussing. Embryonic stem cells (the ones that people argue about) cause cancer. No issue with religion...cancer is cancer.
That may be true but if we don't research all the fields we may miss something that could be very beneficial. I would like to live in a country that researches all the fields not just the ones that don't cause controversy.
This video gives hopes to kidney failure patients on dialysis. Patients who dont have a donor. Cellmedicine is doing great with these videos. Now if only this could be clinically translated !
very informative discussion - it's clear, concise and gives an good overview of the paper in question. see if you can do anything about those two slides in the first 15 secs of the vid - I had to pause it so I could read them. great job otherwise!
you should see the comment someone put on your stem cells for treatment of type 2 diabetes video. Go and take a look. It has got to be the dumbest think every.
You omitted the figure with the growth factor secretion...the fact that the mesenchymal stem cells produce growth factors that assist in regeneration is more important than the fact that they produce interleukin 10.
Kidney's also have endogenous stem cells. It may be that the mesenchymal stem cells being given actually activate or synergize with the endogenous stem cells inside the kidney. Great discussion
can it possibly cure glomuronephritis (the damaged membranes)
