He knew that commitment like that not only to a principle but to the sanctity of life would always make your enemies come to know and respect you...and then become your friends. Eventually you will have a world at peace, a world that works together in love and harmony to make this planet better for all. Once we end hate, then respect and love will follow.

The way Gandhi recommended they should behave, as I said. Peaceful, nonviolent, noncooperation. It waon't work exclusively with everyone, but it will work with the vast majority. And I still believe it is the only way we'll ever learn to stop hurting and killing each other. I'm not sure this philosophy assumes that all people are essentially "good", just essentially the same. We all have an interest in the future of the world.
