@einzep: you have got to be kidding me. I know how to play this song and the octaves you have to reach for in order to sound even half as good as she does are practically impossible and require a great deal amount of effort. You put it well... You don't know about piano playing so please keep your ignorant opinion to yourself thank you.
This wonderful rendition of 'Danza Lucumi' sounds as characteristic as the dance rhythms from your native Brazil which you interpret so prodigiously and so masterfully. The music of Ernesto Lecuona is always such a thrill, thanx for sharing.
my technique is not half as good as her but I can play this with 10 times the subtlety and heart it requires- this is Cuban "Soul" music and she is playing without soul.
not being a professional musician I don't know the musical terms but I highly disliked this interpretation, yes it was too fast, it lacked any subtle spots and sounded way too mechanical, maybe she's a beginner and was nervous.
Miss Iruzun plays this work wonderfully. Superb musicality and feel for the spirit of the work. Regarding the tempo comments, Miss Iruzun plays the initial theme around 95 bpm. Lecuona's own performance of this begins at a leisurely 85 bpm, but in the final theme statement, Miss Iruzun is playing just under 110, and Lecuona's tempo is virtually the same. Lecuona would have been pleased - a fine performance.
If you think it's too fast, you just haven't got the beat -- sorry. You'd like the guitar version better. Or the ballad "From One Love to Another." Same tune.
Too fast? Nooo....its perfect! people who play it slow just dont have the skill to play it fast enough. Its a cuban dance for god sake....she got it right¡¡¡!!!!
impressionante a velocidade, lindo!!!

Bravo!
I first played this piece since I was an adolescent.
Recently I started revising it.
I think it is just perfect...

I like the interpretation of the piece, but the tempo is simply far too fast for this piece.
