  • Just goes to prove its the lorry driver that is the problem!

If you added the vehicles to the video, most of the drivers would be well over the stop lines and pass to close: No indicating, no mirrors, no cycle awareness.

Most of the area indicated as a "blind" spot from the lorry can be seen if the driver cared or bothered to look.

Cyclists beware those lorries are trying to murder you!

  • Or would you prefer me to explain common sense in Crayon for you Mr Mental??????

  • And 1 other thing Mr Environmental or lets just call you mental for short, When I was growing up I was educated like most other people of my generation that common sense is important and roads have moving vehicles in them, so I use a path, and cross at crossings and we had the green cross code drummed into us. Unfortunately the Labour government seems to have managed to remove Common sense from most of the UK, so unless the Sheep of great britain are told common sence doesnt seem to kick in.

  • How funny is this. It just proves how ignorant some people are does'nt it @ ianenvironmental. I never said all truck drivers were perfect did I?. But 99.9% of cyclists are ignorant and stupid, when it comes to riding on the roads, especially in London. Yay lets Ban lorries from London and all cities in the UK and even europe if you like, oops hang on you cant, as everyone will starve, oops hang on, cities will close down as shops will all be empty. I know the Cyclists can deliver it all LMAO

  • @shrek3922 How many motorists give way to pedestrians when turning from a main road, into a side street? The rule is clear, motorists must give-way to the pedestrian walking along the main road...

I'd not call those motorists "ignorant and stupid", nor the pedestrians who battle their way along our streets.

There are plenty of examples of healthy societies that are not reliant on large lorries for their food supply. Open up to different ideas Shrek!

  • stay at red lights, get surrounded by vehicles

  • Seriously, it's just even more heartbreaking because it's Sue that gets killed D:

    nooooooooooooooooooo!

However, could i steal that gold jacket of hers?................. O.O haha.

  • People get on my nerves, "Bloody Truckdrivers" they need educating, they don't understand how big these things are and the amount of blindspots we have. Im a cyclist, and motorcyclist, and would never go up the inside of a truck as Im EDUCATED to how they work, so I never go up the inside of one, those that are stupid enough to then you deserve what happens when it goes wrong just for being that dumb and ignorant. I have witnessed 1st hand at what happens when it goes wrong and it wasnt pretty.

  • Martin great film buddy, I remember you phoning me about this one for some advice sometime ago, and you've hit the nail on the head. We now have a new mirror which allows us to see the front of the truck as well but only new trucks have them, if you have an older vehicle then the other problem is pedestrians, when they cross the road especially in london if they are less than a meter from the front of the truck you cant see them either.

  • There is no blame. This film points out the problem and solution.

  • Where's the advice to lorry drivers to INDICATE, LOOK IN THEIR MIRRORS, and NOT OVERTAKE A CYCLIST BEFORE TURNING LEFT?! Why is it always our fault?

  • @benlablondon because we have many many blind spots, and sometimes struggle to see cars let alone small bikes, DO NOT COME UP THE INSIDE OF LORRIES....... maybe you should take a course showing you what we can see and what we cant, and did you also know that a red light means STOP not lets keep going, you lot should not be allowed on a public highway unless you learn the rules of how to use it and get some insurance...................... idiots............

  • @shrek3922 Maybe vehicles that are dangerous should be banned? There are children in our streets, but men in lorries think that children should know to keep out of their way - or die!

Shrek, should we really ban children from "your" streets?

  • @shrek3922 The blind spots of large vehicles are complex and different for each vehicle, depending upon the layout of the cab and the number, position and type of mirrors. I agree that cyclists should not pass a moving lorry (on either side) but we cannot be expected to know where you can and cannot see. Red lights and insurance have nothing to do with the subject at hand and I assume you mention them as a means to change the subject.

  • @benlablondon We ban dangerous dogs, knifes and guns... yet we allow dangerous vehicles. Why???

  • @ianenvironmental because "everyone" drives...? Driving and deaths caused by drivers are simply seen as an unavoidable part of modern life. Tragic!

  • @benlablondon It's surprising how few people do drive, or rather, how many people do not drive... No one under 17 years of age and increasingly people over the age of 17.

It is very true, that deaths from our mobility system are seen as unavoidable and "normal" and accepted...
