Johnathon Thurston is a good player. that is no doubt. but i think since '06 the commentary teams from Nine and Fox have held him up on a mantlepiece as a "great". The same goes with Lockyer, he has almost no defensive game whatsoever.

Thurston also has authority issues. On many occasions i have seen him argue with a referee or a touch judge (see '05 Grand Final for one example)
