The red shoes was originally a book and its not about a girls inner side. . And no music was not what the movie was about. Social Network was better than Black Swan, but only if you look at the plot.

SN lacked emotionally and it was unexciting to watch. Both were still good films if you ask me.

its not a dance film, its in a certain genre you might not know about called EROTIC THRILLERS, the film is not about ballet, its about natalies transformation from the white swan to black swan and how she keeps mentally breaking down, not knowing whats real and whats not, its not about ballet nor the music but the characters change throughout the film till the end when she dies just like in swan lake, the film is suppose to be like the real life swan lake, it deserved to be the best film.

@carnosaurfan101 But ballet was the forerunning topic of the movie and therefore they're dealing with and representing a world that some people are VERY passionate about so of course there are expectations from ballet fans that they represent it at least to some extent accurately. There are so many inaccuracies about the actual Swan Lake ballet in the movie. The black swan is NOT the white swans twin, they are two entirely different characters Odette and Odile, two entirely different women.
