@Brighteyes1ful Implying that the comment suggests that only those who are presently non-smokers should start to use them and unaware of the fact that they function as filters, rendering cigarettes smoked through them less harmful.
I think any performer would be constricted in this format. Even of the regulars, perhaps the only one you get some idea of the full personality may be Cerf. You'd have no idea Kilgallen was what she was by her appearances, etc. This format just allows for one to get a glimpse of what someone may be like - just like a party game. A Welles personality (read: BIG) isn't a natural fit here, really, any more than he'd be a good fit in a party game. Nice rapport with Arlene, tho.
Smoking is cool!!!

she can never just leave, always has to keep talking - they had to usher her off the microphone at the A Star Is Born premiere; but she's great :)

My god that woman on the left is a total retard.

That was a great idea from Orson, but the audience kept cool fairly well.

@racookster no they don't, the high rate of cancer deaths attests to that fact please keep these kinds of comments to yourself.

How come Greer says she's not a "british subject" if she was born in Essex ?
Ezhuks 2 years ago
Her wiki says she was born in the UK but became a US citizen in 1951.
itsjustanillusion 2 years ago
At the time of the production of this show,
1958, the term "british subject" ment that
you`re a citizen of the commenwealth.
garson became an american citizen in 1951,
therefore shw answered the question correctly.
of course i had to google that, who would
know stuff like that?

Greer Garson looks sooooooo lovely in this!

Garson's on live TV and Orson's missed her.
Gil Fates found this sequence so memorably funny that he featured it prominently in both "WML at 25" and his book.
Welles did many things brilliantly, but he seems constricted in the WML format. He looks especially uncomfortable at ( 4:36 )( 5:18 )
I find Garson funniest when she sounds the most like Garbo and gets technical in her definitions ( 5:39 ) --> .
( 5:26 ) All hail Arlene "All boy" LOLOF
