I agree, I'm french and I have been to Quebec (Canada). There people perfectly understand France french but sometimes I thought it was quite hard to understand canadian french (some words aren't the same and the accent is sometimes weird for somebody from France)

The only countries that speak French are France (retreats from every war it enters) and Canada (Never enters wars in the first place).
