Solution: Quit drilling next to population centers. Why drill in someone's backyard when you don't have to? Plenty of oil and gas in North Dakota, and hardly any people.

after the earth quake in the mid atlantic this summer people were actually blaming it on natural gas drilling, just goes to show how stupid these environuts are, people are afraid of what they dont understand and most people shut off when the facts are in front of their faces, they are stubborn bc of what they see on youtube, when did youtube become a world known news source, even more reason we call then environuts!

Over its extraction / use lifecycle shale gas is at least as dirty as coal. Fossil fuels will run out. We better have some answers when that happens and the sooner we start trying to find those answers the better. But, short term profit will unfortunately always come before quality of life and the environment.

Look. Clean energy is not bad, however it is very inefficient. However, we are going to get our oil/ natural gas one way or another. So, are we going to let foreigners do it and have them get the money? Or have our own citizens get the money?

@josgvis "Toxic chemicals" and "noisy trucks"? North Dakota is going to boom up and become a powerhouse from the oilfields there, and the pollution isn't that bad. It's not like they're pumping out fumes like how the Chinese do it. In fact, pumping out oil here would probably be healthier for the environment overall, not to mention the economy.

Please think about this harder than what the environmentalists are trying to drill into your brain. The planet isn't going to self-destruct.
