IMO the best way for a fast 3x3x3 is to do a bunch of 7x7x7 solves. It makes the 3x3x3 feel really small and easy, and helps with times too. :)

I'm guessing you're in Indiana? I remember you going to school there last year, not Ohio. I wish there were more comps in my area. I live in Northern England, and the only comp is down South, in Bristol. I've never heard of one anywhere else.

ive noticed that if i solve my vcube7 a couple of times, and then switch to a good 3x3, i can get faster then average times. i tihnk its similar to what you are saying, warming up with something big and heavy and awkward, then switching to something nice, ur hands can move alot nicer.

I do that heavier cube warm up thing too. I also get somewhat similar results if I solve a big cube a lot and then go back to 3x3.
