  • Thumbs up if you always used to think the narrator called Hooty a "wise cracking alligator".

  • @NuyoBoy87 Makes sense considering his costume's colored green. XD

  • Ace Goodheart! Dirk Daring! Agatha June? Hoot Owl? PeeWee?

who the fuck thought up the names for this show-those first two are utterly cornball hilarity!

  • Disclaimer: If you have a cape like a bird you will not be able to fly. Do not jump off your parents roof and break your leg and cause your parents to skip Christmas because of a huge hospital bill.

  • @killersushi99 Do you speak from personal experience?

  • Originally called Battle of the Planets 1976 I think

  • I wish I could sue the shit out of Disney for calling the hamsters "G-Force." I don't get it. Why the fuck do they not have all G-Force episodes available on Blu-Ray or DVD or iTunes? It's Battle of the Planets that have the gay robot, which is just fucked up. I don't care about Battle of the Planets or Eagle Riders. All I care about is collecting all the episodes of G-Force, because it all sounds cool with the action and the music, which sounds like '80s Genesis with Phil Collins.

  • @icsws55 "G-Force" has too niche of a fan following to warrant a full home video release. The show was much more popular in Latin America than it was in the U.S and Europe, but even that following is small compared to BotP's. Not just that, but Sandy Frank lost the rights to do ANYTHING with BotP & G-Force several years ago, as they no longer have the domestic license for "Gatchaman" (the original Japanese show). '90's Cartoon Network recordings are the only way to get all of "G-Force".

  • @SuperAdventures Maybe I was being aggressive, because "G-Force" first introduced me to Gatchaman. But what the hell, I guess I could check out "Battle of the Planets" along with uncut English episodes that were never aired. The only things different about G-Force are the music, script, minor characters, and character names. Though not all G-Force episodes are available on DVD or Blu-Ray, I guess Battle of the Planets/Gatchaman would really be cool to watch

  • @icsws55 Actually it's frustrating for me as well, as I would've liked the series to have been released on DVD, but the Gatchaman franchise is all but dead here in the U.S now that the CGI movie got canned, so there won't be any releases of anything Gatchaman-related on DVD.

  • @SuperAdventures If I noticed the Eagle Riders replacing G-Force in the '90s, I could've gotten a heart attack. I guess it's multiple versions of Gatchaman that made the franchise and the CGI movie dead, and caused frustrations of many Americans, like me. If G-Force was the ONLY American English version of Gatchaman, rather than BotP and Eagle Riders, Family Guy could've gotten permission to do a cutaway gag of those heroes. Plus, there would be uncut versions of G-Force

  • @SuperAdventures From reading your guys' comments, I can't tell if I'm just posting stupidly, but they did release the original gatchaman series in English awhile back. You can find the DVDs on ebay and some anime sites. They're pretty good, though I'm not sure how well they compare to G-Force (which I used to watch on Cartoon Network as a kid a LONG time ago). I may do some searching for the episodes online though because I'm interested...

  • @SuperAdventures I think they released a couple volumes a long time back, but I can't remember if they were on VHS or DVD. Even then, it was just a few episodes.

  • @SuperAdventures Damn it. Once again I wish I just videotaped everything that existed on the early days of CN.

  • @icsws55 Disney won the "G-Force" Lawsuit against Tatsunoko Production Company Limited and retained the rights to the 2009 film of the same name which had guinea pigs instead of animated people.

  • @brandonefron2064 I see how it is with Disney, but I still called the animated heroes G-Force anyways because "G-Force" is a simpler term than "Gatchaman." If there was a Gatchaman CGI movie, then it would be as cool as I-Robot with Will Smith.

  • GAY!! Go get the real Gatchaman DVDs and watch in Japanese with subtitles. This is GAY, moronic and PC American crap cutting and dubbing.

  • This brings me back to the age of 6 years....

  • G-Force the guardians of the planet earth!

  • Does anyone have all episodes of this show in english version (not spanish) and can ript it and post it here? I would love that

  • I hated most video games that was well after the 90s but when tatsunoko vs Capcom came out for the Wii I actually enjoyed it because it reminded me of my childhood which in this case the G-force.

  • bring back these cartoons not what cartoon network is showing now

  • oh! come on i couldn't stand that crap lol classic crap retro junk gigantor transor z, voltron yes good g force crap

  • use to love these type of shows

  • eahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • SUCKS ASS!

Honestly, those who prefer this never saw Battle of The Planets (the real g force - unless you are japanese and/or managed to get Gatchaman as a basement dwelling adult).

Battle of the Planets - go look it up.

  • @fredfinks Likewise, those who prefer BotP never bothered to watch "G-Force: Guardians of Space", and/or are blind to the massive cutting and editing done to each and every BotP episode.

  • @SuperAdventures I grew up in the 90s and even though apparently there was a 90s version, I only knew this one. G-Force, as I know now, had less cuts, censorship, or stupid robots than BoTP.

  • @fredfinks My older cousins have the ORIGINAL G-Force (it was still called G-Force) cartoon from the early 80s on VHS. Names changed, violence had been cut out and all kinds of shit. The version we are commenting on "SUCK ASS!" just like you said.

  • @fredfinks Shows how much research you actually bothered to do (very little) -- G-Force is actually *closer* in tone and story to the actual source material (Gatchaman) than Battle of the Planets EVER was; matter of fact, you ask most people who are fans (of Gatch), Battle of the Planets is an utter bastardization of what Gatch actually was, and G-Force is more faithful to the original source material (though even they will admit that its far from a perfectly faithful adaptation).

  • @fredfinks i believe that they edited battle of the planets to make it seem like they were going to different planets or some dumb shit like that

  • Best intro music!

  • @wrathlizard You must not have heard the Battle of the Planets theme song.

  • @kaldemvor Yeah I heard it but this was the one that played when I was a kid, so it gets the nostalgia bonus =)

  • The G-spot was their secret base, no enemy could ever find it!!!

  • This G-Force theme song sounds like 'Abacab' and 'Turn it on Again,' which are Genesis songs by Phil Collins

  • How secret can they be when they're flying around dressed like birds? Still, loved watching this in the 80's when I was a kid.

  • buenas........ one of the best cartoons i have ever seen on tv cant compair with todays *&&^%$# on tv

  • I hated G-force

  • muy bueno

  • I wish capcom made "G-Force Vs Street Fighter" instead of Tatsonuko vs capcom cause they didnt even add samurai pizza cats

  • G-Force shitted fucked the Power Rangers and had Voltron!

  • those aren`t hamsters

  • Takes me back.

  • This is the Japanese Gatchaman!

    Look at this!

    ガッチャマンの歌/米米CLUB

  • Hey,does anyone remember Eagle Riders? It was an another adaption from Gatchaman(Battle of The Planets,G-Force).It came out in the 90's.Their names were Hunter Harris, Joe Thax ,Kelly Jennar ,Mickey Dugan and Ollie Keeawani.

  • G-FORCE!!!!!! hek hek hek

  • Holy shit! I remeber this shit ajajajajajaja damn it's been years.

  • best song track GATCHAMAN LA BATTAGLIA DEI PIANETI (sigla italiana completa)

  • This was what I came home from school to, right after Robotech on the SciFi Channel

  • I thought this was the SwaneeRiver

  • I'm a little confused about the 1986 date on the video. I can remember watching these cartoons when I was in 4th and 5th grade...The late 1970's. Did the show continue running until 1986?

  • @sandman19681012 it was probably the Battle of the Planets version that you remember cause that was around in the 70's cause the g-force adaptation didnt come till 1986.

  • bahaha i remember when Hootie and the Blowfish got popular, and all i could think of was Hootowl singing that damn "I Only Wanna Be With You" song.

i liked the bizarreness of their names. Ace Goodheart. really? oh god, Galactor. that SHINY LIPSTICK. so much fail, it's almost a win. fwin? xD

loved the hell outta this series.

  • Anyone know where i can find the theme music without the presenter's voice ?

  • @Bhethar Check the "Closing" video that may be to your right on the "Suggested Videos" list, it features the show's closing credits, which contains a clean version of the theme.

  • @SuperAdventures Thanks a lot man , i owe you one ^ ^

  • wow they stole a character from tatsunoko ken the eagle is the original character instead of ace it ken and jun is original its jun the swan

  • @monkeyneedbanana Nah, nothing was stolen. The rights to adapt Gatchaman into English were licensed from Tatsunoko in the first place. Despite the over-the-top names and campy script, this version was the closest adaptation of the original until the 2005 ADV dub.

  • whoa did silver hawks copy G-Force

  • I don't know why I find Joe the Condor's english name to be so amusing. Dirk Daring? Seriously? DIRK DARING! DIRK FUCKING DARING! WHAT IS THAT!

  • @TheTKCreborn Fred Ladd, producer of the "G-Force" dub, had a (bad) habit of re-naming characters with over-the-top names in his productions (such as "Astro Boy" and "Gigantor"). He brought his 60's dubbing mentality into an '80's dub of a '70's anime.

  • @SuperAdventures I actually like the name Dirk Daring because it's so over-the-top

  • @SuperAdventures He's like the equivalent of 4Kids. ^^

  • @TheTKCreborn well also bc his name is the same as the guy from Dragons Lair. lol

  • Undoubtedly the NVIDIA founders watched this series as they were young :)

  • The fun thing about G-Force: Guardians of Space is that the scripts practically MiST themselves.

  • @dngillikin There used to be a MiST of Episode 20 floating around the web many years ago, pretty funny stuff. Those in the know of the bastardization that occured in the previous English dub, Battle of the Planets, would have a field day with doing just one episode of that.

  • @SuperAdventures Ah yes, the infamous puppy episode. I printed it out a long, long time ago. Like many my age, I started out with BotP, and didn't encounter GoS until I caught a bit of it on Cartoon Network. My reaction at the time was like many commenters, but GoS started to grow on me and started to enjoy the campiness of the translation.

  • @dngillikin

    What does MiST stand for?

  • @GadGades MiST (or occasionally MyST) stands for engaging in the riffing activity pioneered by Mystery Science Theater 3000, now practiced by MST3K alumni at Cinematic Titanic and Rifftrax.

  • BOTP: I remember watching: Mark, Jason, Princess, Tiny and Keeop. Zoltar was the evil guy and O Luminous one, the Great Spirit: no Computor. I remember 7 Zark 7. I remember Planet Spectra as well. Other than that it is a bit sketchy. I use to watch this after school in the very late 70s and early 80s. Firey Phoenix, that was the killer transformation.

  • ACE GOODHEART! Wtf? It's Ken the Eagle dammit!

  • i remember seeing this as a kid back in 77 maybe 78 did they redo it for the 80's? i could swear i saw this back in the 70's

  • this theme was for the G FORCE MOVE VERSION FOR VHS TAPE IN THE MID 80`S

  • You know with a name like "Ace Goodheart" that shit in this show got real.

  • You know- the start of this is so WII fly boys- I think you could improve this cartoon by making it Spitfires versus aliens.

  • Im gonna stick with the 70`s version thanks !!!

  • Hehe..Joe-3

    English kills it D:

  • Lol Awesome! Its Kind of like the Archie's in Space! Archie (Mark) Jason (Reggie) Princess (Betty) Keop (Jughead) and Tiny (Big Moose) hahaha The Original in the 70's was the best though! Ahhh the memories

  • Comment removed

  • 5 teenage g spots.

  • fuck wut some ppl said i luv this intro as much as i remember it as a kid

  • you ever play capcom vs tatsunoko

  • WTF is up with the names? Mark Jason Princess Tiny and Keyop and no other names thank you...hello

  • @kohstamojahn yeah i have to agree. No Mark, Jason, Princess, Tiny and Keyop. instead the originals Ken, Jo, Jun, Ryu and Junpei. The ones befor Battle of the planets the ones that dosnt have 7-zark-7 apearing so he can censore the violence. The one were Junpei/ Keyop spoke, i meant with words not sounding like he is haveing a seuizure.complain about being treated like a kid. not go BRRRU WWOUPT. Jo/Jason is shot and kill and Katse/Zoltar is the blond women you see. Cos he is a hermaphrodite.

  • 10 People were disappointed that they saw no talking hamsters.

  • I'm sure it would be too fucking boring to be a guardian of space LOL

  • this is not the "JDM" version......

  • Never heard of this version as a kid. this intro SUCKS Battle of planets was waaaaaaaay better lol. the names changes are retarted!....and so is music. what were they were thinking? IF IT AINT BROKE!..............you know the rest.

  • @LVSWTZ "Battle of The Planets" didn't just break almost everything that made the original Gatchaman great, but shattered it into tiny pieces. 7-Zark-7, the "Ready Room" and "spaceburgers" in place of exciting action and fisticuffs? Come on now.

  • @SuperAdventures okay! but this versions intro really sucks! I mean it's like they slapped it together. The BOTP intro is much better like they put more time into it The music was beautiful like a new day dawning the good guys are on the way to save the day and The names seemed to fit the faces Mark Jason Princess Tiny. They should've kept the feel of the BOTP and just add the more action and drama but this? no! Gatchaman to violent for kids but now? perfect!

  • @SuperAdventures Hear hear! G-Force may not have been the nigh-flawless classic that the original Gatch was, but at least it actually *tried* to stick as close to the original as executive meddling (and moral guardians, the bastards) would allow; BoTP was a comple and UTTER bastardization of everything the original Gatch was supposed to be. (And at least for me, as embarrassing as it was, I actually kind of liked the techno beat...still kinda do, actually; make of that what you will, I guess...)

  • @LVSWTZ

    Yeah this intro sucks baddd!!!!!

  • Umm, the names were different whe i watched it? It was Jason,Mark,TIny Princess and Kee-op ????

  • @Noonelson THANKYOU!

  • I watched this on Channel 2 like Magma Man and Ultra Man

  • Loved this show as a kid.

  • So is this Battle of the Planets re-dubbed AGAIN!?

Or is it another Gatchaman series that wasn't turned into BotP?

    I'm confused

  • @JoeScaramanga They are going to make Gatchaman into a live action movie to be shown this year.

  • 10 ppl borned in the year 2000 and never knew of epic cartoons like this 1

  • This was good on CN and so was the Saturday Morning Anime on Sci-Fi Channel back during that time.

  • This was a lot older than 86, sure it wasn't 76?

  • @Dougster Agreed. I was in HS in 1986 and this was long before that. This came out before Force 5 (Danguard Ace, Gaiking, Grandizer, Starvengers) and around the same time as Star Blazers. I put it at about 1978-1980.

  • @Lfdjake91 *sigh*, the uber-detailed video description isn't there for nothing! The incarnation of the show that you grew up with was "Battle of the Planets", which premiered in 1978 and ran in syndication through the mid-1980's. That was the first English version of "Gatchaman". This is the 2nd, "G-Force: Guardians of Space", which was produced in 1986 but not aired in the U.S until it premiered on Cartoon Network in 1995. Its the version the '90's-era children grew up with.

  • @SuperAdventures Sorry I didn't read the description. I just watched the video & read the comments. After a bit of thought it occured to me that the show when I watched it was called "Battle of the Planets" & the character names were different so I figured this was some type of remake. At least I was right on the year! :)

  • go check the Italian opening... just epic!

search for "GATCHAMAN LA BATTAGLIA DEI PIANETI (sigla italiana completa)"

    or paste this: v=4GFs5X1ATEE

  • This brings back memories.

  • I remember watching this all the time on Cartoon Network. I wonder now which version of this series is the better one to watch.

  • @KatzyPawe ADV's English dub of "Gatchaman" from 2005 is the definitive English-language version of this series. "G-Force" is still close to the original Gatchaman content-wise (with only minor edits for strong content and time constraints), but contains drastically different character names, additional music which most agree is annoying, and only covered 85 of Gatch's 105 episodes. Plus, "G-Force" will never see a full series release on home video, mostly because there's no demand for it.

  • @SuperAdventures

Thanks for the info. I always thought that this version was incomplete. I also did not know that this series was edited. Now I have to catch the later episodes. I just wish they were English dubbed.

I love this intro over all the intro's and I like the voices. This is the version I grew up watching on Cartoon Network. Anything else is sort of foreign to me.

  • lol..."trained to fly like birds"...so silly but i loved this fuckin cartoon

  • Ah, the 80's...good times, good times...

  • Thumbs up if you remember this on Cartoon Network...back when it was still good...

  • @benjovi356 Ya I used to watch this all the time then the show disappeared out of no where :(

  • @benjovi356 Ya, I feel sorry for kids today, none of the cartoons are remotely as good as what I grew up with.

  • @benjovi356 LOL yup! F**kin Toonami, with the little fat robot

  • Gatchaman

  • I remember when this showed on Cartoon network. I had no IDEA what anime was at the time, this and speed racer. I had NO clue they were anime's when i was a kid.

  • This version is so cheesy!

  • When I was little this used to come on at 4:30 AM or so on Cartoon Network. I went to bed very early so I was always up early and watched this almost every day... man I love this theme song haha

  • AMERICAAAA! WHAT HAVE YOU DOOOOOONE!!?

  • G-Force............Sounds like a sex toy!

  • @IPman77 Ha ha ha ha...! XD

  • what a terrible theme, the original is better :P

  • Its gatchaman not g-force.

and its not ace its ken

  • personally I like the battle of the planets theme more than this one

  • This is my favorite theme out of the entire Gatchaman adaptations!!

  • @Hewylewis This one is cool but personally I like the battle of the planets theme

  • This is the one I remember. I HATE, how those damn hampsters are G-force...

  • I used to watch BOTP as a child in the 80s, but I don't know why I remembered the title as G-Force, as it was definitely BOTP that I saw, with Keyop and 7Zark7.

  • this opening is WAY better than the japanese, the soundtrack is great

  • Comment removed

  • EPIC STANCE @ 0:24

  • WTF is this? ace goodheart? dirk daring? what bullshit is this?

  • I thought their names were Ken the Eagle, Jun the Swan, and Joe the Condor. Those I'm familiar with thanks to TvsC. The Japanese opening was cooler, but this one's good too. It at least gives insight into the main characters. I didn't know they were teens! :O

  • @BigBossMan538 There was first japanese Gatchaman in the early 70s, it was then redubbed english and edited heavily to be Battle of the planets late 70s to 80s.

in 86 they redubbed Gatchaman in english but didnt do much editing and this is what you have. You have G'Force Guardians of space. Its the more truer english version of gatchaman uptill the recent redub of Gatchaman , Science Ninja Team. There was a half ok version called eagle riders done in the 90s.

  • lol G-Force = gatchaman

it ya think i'm wrong look it up

  • @ghosttaker They are actually making a live-action movie out of this cartoons? What are your thoughts on this?

  • @Sweetmervs if japanese doing it yesssss if uses do it noooooooooooooooooooooo

  • @Sweetmervs Dragonball Evolution.... need I say more? Hollywood really REALLY needs to STOP ADAPTING OUR BELOVED CHILDHOOD SHOWS INTO HALF-ASSED BIG BIDGET BLOCKBUSTER BULLSHIT FILMS! I know it's hard for you talentless hacks to make something ORIGINAL but at least TRY. Hopefully Hollywood is at least merciful enough to avoid Michael Bay like the plague.

  • @GabbaGabbaHey529 Don't be mad at me. I was just asking for an opinion.

  • Comment removed

  • I still love the song!!!

  • i love this show as an kid :D

  • OMFG!!!!!!!! i have been looking for this show for AGES!!!! i cant find it for sale anywhere. I would pay an arm, leg and my left Nut to get this show series iuf anyone knows where i can buy or download it please comment i havent seen this show since i was a teen

  • @xwerefoxx You can get the original "Gatchaman" on DVD,

They also brought out "Battle of the planets" on DVD

But they haven't released the G-Force DVD.

Soo look for BOTP or Gatchaman, either download or DVD

  • This was the version i grew up with, back when it was on Cartoon Network. It wasn't as hardcore as Gatchaman (due to editing and what not) but it definitely beat the %$#@ out of Battle of the Planets. F___ Seven Zark Seven.

  • beats the movie

  • this sucks in english

  • @charliebell01 What made you say that?

  • Mark, Jason, Princess, Tiny, Kyopp??

  • the original japanese beginning had shown jun's panties while she was tumbling! this had been cut out.. In that version, the Galactor was a criminal organization on earth, their leader was a uber-genius who designed mecha to defeat military operations. The science ninja team or "kaganinjatai" were named after the leader, "gatchaman". Berg Katse was an androgenous clone who was their nemesis. hoyt Curtin wrote a very good theme for BOTP

  • @dynagravitomagnetic need more jun's panties!

  • AMAZING MUSIC!!!

  • One of the things that has always bothered me about this opening is that during "Agatha Jun's" bit they show Ace twice! What, they thought we'd think of Ace or did they think we wouldn't notice that Aggie suddenly became her boyfriend?! Grrr.

  • @magicalgirl Yep, they definitely slipped on that part. Apart from brief scenes of Gatch episodes 18 & 87 (the pilot episodes for "G-Force"), this is pretty much a shortened version of the second Gatchaman OP. Perhaps they were too lazy to edit in a shot of Aggie/Jun. If you were to use your imagination, you could take Ace being shown twice as visual representation of how Aggie's "a match for the strongest on the team!" *cuts to Ace footage* Heh.

  • @SuperAdventures I've read at the wikipedia site that they were going to make a live-action-movie of this movie called Gatchaman. But they haven't pick the characters to play all five members. What's your take on this?

  • @magicalgirl I'VE ALWAYS THOUGHT THE SAME, BUT MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, THEY PUT THOSE ACE'S IMAGES BECAUSE THE NARRATOR SAYS AGATHA CAN BE COMPARED TO THE STRONGEST OF THE TEAM.. JUST MAYBE :P

  • This is old skool i remember watching this as a kid- thanks for the vid

  • They used the same song over and over and over again in all the series.

  • @ODML21 I take it you mean the repetitive background music that played whenever the original, symphonic Gatchaman score didn't. If so then yes, the "backbeat" as I call it is a stripped-down rendition of this opening theme.

  • @SuperAdventures Don't you know that they are making a live-action Gatchaman film? Imagi films is going to produce and shoot the film. What do you think?

  • HAHAHAAHA!!!!! the memories

  • One of my all time fav Cartoons!

  • Nvidia success because they use this name

    geforce 240gt haha

  • Pamiętam! Kurwa, pamiętam to! :,)

  • why in tatsunoko vs capcom ace goodheart name is ken the egal

  • @390fusion Tatsunoko VS Capcom is Japanese. They stuck with the original Japanese names.

  • oh wow I remember this show
