This looks good - i think the way forward is to make rugby games super violent. With powerups etc you can maybe wrench peoples arms off etc. This way more gamers would be into it. At the end of the day to sell more rugby games more people with xboxes and ps need to want the game. Aus, NZ, SA are not huge markets.

@Tombstone416 Sidhe would be interested in working on future Rugby League titles, but at this stage haven't been contracted to do so. Hopefully, this version by Big Ant will do well enough (and I believe it will) to encourage HES to continue investing in the franchise.

I just bought this game today on Xbox 360 from Harvey Norman. I like the fact that the controls are similar to Rugby league 2. The only disappointing thing that Ive noticed so far is that you cant fully customise your own created players (height, weight) much like RL2 and I couldnt find a way to move players (i.e Wade McKinnon) from one team (Warriors) to another (Tigers). Hopefully there are unlockables to enable this.
I paid $112 NZ for it. After playing it for one day.. I have to say that the game play isnt too bad and you soon get over the graphics. You no longer have to tap the A button (on xbox360) to run fast - You hold it to get a boost of speed. RL2 is better in terms of replayability though. No franchise mode in this game. You cant edit the rosters - unless you create your own team - so your stuck with the 2010 roster. Once I complete the game and unlock everything, I may become bored with this game

the reason the graphics aren't that good because it is just a port from the Wii, which is a bit lazy from Sidhe when you think about it, The Wii's graphics suck it's not even really a next Gen console apart from the Controller.
But I don't mind too much about the graphics if the Gameplay is good, It looks like a bit of an improvement over the 2nd game.
One thing I've always liked about the league games are the hits. This one doesn't look any different to the previous games on ps2, they look a little smoother though.

I take it you're not familiar with the market realities of the gaming industry. Rugby League is an extremely niche market globally, so "getting it right" would require a level of investment that wouldn't be rational given the likely return. Rugby League fans just want "a" game on PS3/XBOX360. It doesn't matter that it's not Madden or FIFA; to expect something of that level is ignorant.

not just that. the AI is the same as previous games. u have to tap the fend or side step buttom miles before the tackler. i thought the timing would have improved like maddens.

the reason the graphics aren't that good because it is just a port from the Wii, which is a bit lazy from Sidhe when you think about it, The Wii's graphics suck it's not even really a next Gen console apart from the Controller.
But I don't mind too much about the graphics if the Gameplay is good, It looks like a bit of an improvement over the 2nd game.

One thing I've always liked about the league games are the hits. This one doesn't look any different to the previous games on ps2, they look a little smoother though.
Might get this when it's on special.

I take it you're not familiar with the market realities of the gaming industry. Rugby League is an extremely niche market globally, so "getting it right" would require a level of investment that wouldn't be rational given the likely return. Rugby League fans just want "a" game on PS3/XBOX360. It doesn't matter that it's not Madden or FIFA; to expect something of that level is ignorant.
