i know it a really old video but he new so i understand to take it slow and the kickers are to far spaced for the reach but perfectly space for the big lp we have at our store and two bunks of 1/2 inch regular 8 ft rock is fine for the reach and now that my store has 1/2 inch lightweight rock i can do three bunks. it all depends on how u drive the machine
Don't know what "training" they do at the home stores but more than once I've had to get on the forklift there because the "operator" couldn't figure out a simple task was was going to damage the crap out of my truck or trailer.
@ionguy08 Ok FIRST off the reach truck can handle a load like that, SECOND if someone used and burnt up the reach truck in your store, shame on you guys for not having your reach trucks checked for problems. THIRD dont comment on something you dont know about the reach truck can handle 2 bunks of dry wall very easy.
@lennon10975 Really? Didn't know that. could of just been; because of the age of it. Just a curiosity question; what is the estimated weight of a single bunk of sheetrock?
I work in the lumber department at Home Depot. The reach can handle 2 bundles of drywall easy. I never have an problems with it. As for the time it takes this guy, well, that's just sad lol
a sidewinder or 4d lift truck is not available in all stores. The 80 LPG is the only machine that should be used with drywall. All reach trucks the the HD use can not safely lift 8' long items. They are for skinny aisles and pallets only.
The reach truck can safely handle 16' lumber easily, i just used the reach truck this evening to take 12' lumber out for a customer. So when I say it can be done dont none of you try and say the reach is only for pallets and skinny aisles cuz i can use the LPG in skinny aisles do it all the time.
Check SOP. Even the lift training will tell you... LPG. I didn't say it couldn't be done. I said it isn't safe. I have done 40'+ on a Reach. It is't advisable. It would be a major work rule violation if you dropped it. No wiz quiz.. Termination. End of story.
This is funny as hell!! It only takes this guy 5 mins to drop 2 units of drywall and why are they using this piece of equipment its definitely way over capacity I thought this thing would flip over when he lifted it!
Why are they using a reach truck anyway, LP forklift is the best option for drywall. I ran building and lumber. They get damage if not used correctly. There is to much weight on there anyway.
i didnt say that wasnt the reach truck, i read another comment wrong i thought they said OP When they said LP, which would be correct, by the way its order picker not oder picker haha
Raymond reach trucks are awesome. We use them where I work. We had to rent a Yale once when one of them broke and it was GARBAGE. Raymond ftw. Like the way you face forward on Raymonds.
Those Raymond reach trucks are crap. I had to use one when one of our Crown trucks was broken. You guys should have started him out with one unit all that weight bouncing around on the forks might scare a newbie.
LPG is more fun. If I had to use a reach it would have to be a 4D (crab walk) reach. Takes a lot of skill to drive sideways. Gravity is not on your side. I know how to work on every aspect of raymond so that is my preference.
This guy sucks.

Holy crap! Would have had enough time to get the truck loaded and be hanging it on my walls by the time this guy figures out how to use that machine!

The trainer failed to tell him where to pick it up in the first place
forks where not far part from each other to let him get a best pick up.

A guy in our lumber department hit a water mane behind our 12 foot drywall and ruined it all a few weeks ago.
If only I would have had my camera on me then ....

Why is he using the regular reach truck, he should be using the crab or the LP truck just like cspara said.

Use a LP truck for more than 1 lift.
