You are meant to hold it yourselves, a bit above the ground, until it sort of fills up and feels naturally ready to rise. Try another , they are great hen they do work.
I love these, but my first two launches were failures- one caught fire and burnt up on the ground, the other fucked off and hit a tree!
But once you get the technique, then usually you can launch them successfully- basically, just keep them sheltered when lighting, use 2 or 3 people, and don't let them go to early.
I've also set two off that simply don't go up, they just blew into a field and burnt themselves out on the ground!
