Foregrounding the adolescent, undefined and undefinable concept of boredom as somehow cool and cutting edge is a new form of barbarism that will destroy the technology these brats use.
Yeah, right. Childish impulses will destroy the very technology that this brats use to communicate with each other. Computer science enrollments already down in the West.
Nobody wants to do the heavy lifting anymore. I'm surprised there is *any* free, open source software available - I still can't believe that anyone would subject themselves to such drudgery gratis.
Ah, yeah, I was hoping that wouldn't be so obvious, or that people would suspend their disbelief on that particular point. It was a two-person production (I played both the teacher and one of the students), and I used medium and extreme close-ups to limit people's views of the empty desks. If I were doing this again, I might do it with extras instead.
I thought the error was the S.O.S bit. I could be wrong, but I always thought that S.O.S was three short dashes, one long one, and three short ones again. Or somethng along the lines of that...Hmm...
I said the opposite. =) "Also, the mistake we're looking for is a serious verbal mistake on the part of the lecturer. It's not a quibble of grammar, it's not a continuity error."
Um, nope. =) Well, in a way, yes, but it's only because I played both the student and the teacher. At least the stereo separation helps back up the illusion, if not my awkward cinematography.
I'm not sure what you're referring to. Could you be more specific? =)
Also, the mistake we're looking for is a serious verbal mistake on the part of the lecturer. It's not a quibble of grammar, it's not a continuity error - in fact, it's so glaring and in some ways so obvious that when it's discovered there will be not a shred of doubt about it.
Okay, this is my last guess. I assume the close up shots are particularly for the cause of not showing the whole room. So are the 2 students who leave the only students in the room? So why does the teacher continue?
Ok, I'd better clarify this for people. =) The mistake is in something the lecturer says; it's not related to shooting - I'd call those continuity mistakes, and I'm a lot more laissez-faire about those.
You're right; the close up shots serve partly to cover up the fact that we're trying to simulate a class and a teacher with just two actors.
There are kind of supposed to be more students, of course, but we didn't have any extras. =) So they're just in our imaginations - and again, hence the closeups.
True enough. Then again, do you think they WANT to go back inside? =) They went out the back doors, which are locked after school hours (when we were shooting), unlike the front doors (not shown in the film), which stay open. (So in the story, they could have been planning to come back in that way.)
Ah, that's an error, alright! (But not the instructor's error, I must point out.) I wasn't even aware of it, but now that you mention it, we might have done the soccer ball shoot and the school shoot on separate days. Separate locations, anyway; the soccer ball shots were taken on the Halifax common. (The long shots, though, were shot behind CPA.)
Eh, is there really a toilet for women and for girls? That is weird. The windows look double glazed or at least pretty strong so how did a burst ball break the window?
I'm only trying to guess what mistake you are talking about. Not knockin' your video. I'm bored :(
Ha-ha! I'm so glad you noticed that! Yes, it's weird. We shot the washroom doors on the second floor just because of this. This is also the floor with the gymnasium; the "Women" and "Men" doors on the floor are actually for the changing rooms (for gym classes and sports).
Yeah, I agree with you - a ball should not have broken that window. Um... but... um... well, Korean girls can really boot a ball. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. =)
Ah, well, I meant to do that. I don't know if there's a formal "Telegraph Era," but I think it's acceptable to create an era for just about anything.
The actual mistake is really quite jarring, and it will be so obvious when found that the discoverer probably won't even phrase the discovery as a question.
Mmm... yeah, but I was really just writing down "Recent" meaning "post-Quantum Mechanics" - I was just kind of being aimless. You could call it a mistake of sorts, I guess.
Oh, haha no, that's just my messy handwriting. It really does say "2nd millennium," but when my n gets close to my d, it's hard to distinguish "rd" from "nd."

Boredom may be hard to define, but most of us know what it feels like!
I can't really say I was trying to make any great sweeping statement with this video - I was just trying to be clever and pass a course. =)

The lecturers mistake is that he used ---...--- for SOS instead of ...---...
That's the mistake isn't it? It is quite obvious, or is that only because I know what SOS is in morse code?
