@wreyoG I respect your opinion but I'm going to say that you are crazy if you think that Tony Iommi and Keith Richards are better guitarists than Clapton. Clapton may be one of the greatest students of the blues. He pays attention to the nuances and most minor of details of blues guitar that completely separate him from others. His playing on the "Beano" album may be one of the most important guitar albums of all time. He singlehandedly made the Les Paul/Marshall combination THE standard.
Eric moved me w this interview, despite knowing his story so well already A superstar of his stature demonstrating such raw honesty and humility is so refreshing in these days of Lady Gaga & Kanye! Where will those 2 no-talent egomaniacs be in 30 yrs? Selling out arenas w nothing more than a guitar and vocals, basic back-up band & 30 years of music to cull from? I don't think so!
God Bless Eric Clapton. And kudos to the late, great Ed Bradley for an excellent interview. RIP, Ed.
@slowhandfan01 yeah but you re talking about different styles of music...is there any comparison between Pop music and Rock/Blues? i think NOT...so yes those 2 artist will be selling in 30 years to pop lovers just like madonna and kylie still sell out arenas to pop fans all around the world...cheers
@slowhandfan01 I agree with what you say about Clapton. He is a very big hero of mine. But I also think that Kanye and Lady Gaga are well on the way to building their own legacy.Let's not forget Kanye has been doing his thing for 16 years already. And while I'm not a fan I understand that he worked his ass off to get where he is.Listen to the interview, Clapton had to go to hell to get his humility.
@spagetteo Do you really think those two hacks are going to be seen as musical heroes in 40 yrs time, and be marked down in history books as legends of the music world, I highly doubt it. In reality, they and many others are just plastic stains that will in time, wash of and be all but forgotten through future trends and marketing plans. They are really not building anything, just adding to the pile of bullshit that the kids these days are eating up. I yearn for the day when people wake up.
2.) I saw the first 2 parts and was quite moved by what I heard and saw, the reactions in his face, how he manages to speak about it all so openly and calmly, it's quite inspiring, how he is still alive and doing what he loves, the blues.
If you had the other parts I would gladly appreciate it and would love it very much if you uploaded them.
1.) I was wondering if you had any more of this interview as you have only parts 1 & 2 uploaded. I've always seen Clapton as a quiet person, quite reserved and I don't know......private? except that he only expresses himself through forms of musical speech, which I admire because most celebrities or famous people tend to express themselves to the media almost on a daily basis, rather than just what they're famous, admired or well known for though I don't know if that's just this generationofsuch
