  • JAGWIRE, whats that?

  • "But here in the states, we call it the Jagwire"

No, I'm pretty sure you're the only one who calls it that.

  • Yeah dude you're the best collector on the world. You have all the good stuff! But the AVGN is the best reviewer, that's why people are saying all this.

  • Why does he keep calling it the jagwire??

  • @dogeymon83 ikr!

  • Jaguar cd and the system itself is shit the cd add on is really not neccessery

  • They took over Ric Flair, and created Ric Flair 2.

  • Jaguiar? Never understood the I sound in the name...

  • lol! It looks like the toilet of gaming when it's all put together with the Jaguar CD and a cartridge.

  • The Jaguar is not a 64 bit system it had to 32 bit cpu's connected to a graphic enhancer THATS CHEATING ATARI ! thats why it looks so different to the n64

  • JagWAR

  • lol Jagwire! I know a few Americans and they don't say "Jagwire"!

  • Yeah I got one back in the day for 40bucks brand new at Kaybee toys

  • WTF is a Jagwire?

  • yeah now we can play some jaaag

  • Honestly Jags were a piece of junk, the games I knew for it were terrible. Though when I lost my 1st gen Genesis' adapter, I was lucky enough to find that the Jaguar's adapter is pretty much identical to it, at least that Jaguar served some purpouse XD.

  • is it the jaguar or the jagwire?

  • the jaguar or the jagwire?

  • the cd add-on was a piece of shit that doesn't last plain and simple!

  • I got lucky I got 2 of the Jaguar systems for 20 each, me happy :D all I had to do was clean the pins.

  • I bught the jag when it came out and it still works great. Cant say the same about the cd-rom. It spins and stos, spins and stops and will not read the discs :-( To replace the unit is pretty costly on ebay and i have considered replacing the laser pickup unit. I had a special RGB cable made to allow it to work in RGB mode on my 1084s monitor. Jag, Genesis, SNES all looked excellent in RGB.

Not many know this but the sequel to the Jag is 'unofficially' the NUON.

  • Nice video thanks, never saw this machine before.

I think if you have the original boxes you should definitely show them. It can be quite Interesting to see the designs, pictures and no doubt humorous wording etc from the time period! :)

  • The Jaguar CD was released for only two reasons, the first was to keep their promise that they were going to release the addon, and the other reason was to recoup some of the money lost in developing the addon. It can be considered the Atari counterpart of the N64-DD which was released for the same reasons.

  • jagwire

  • give it to the avgn

  • so this gonna be rare as hell in 30 years for sure

  • Okay lol look at all the 3rd graders say "haha he said jagwire" look at how fucking gay and retarded you fucking are When u say jaguar sometimes it sounds like jagwire but since ur in the 3rd grade and your best and only friend is sponge bob and ur fucking gay, u wouldn't know

  • the jag CD looks like a toilet...

  • @xPaelKeizahx avgn quote?

  • @ZavenNes1718 but it does look like one...

  • Nice review. Take a shot when he says "Ah".

  • nice review of the "jag-wire"! ROFL!...

  • AVGN!

  • yes, please send it to James Rolfe (Angry Video Game Nerd) i would love to see him review it... no offence to you xP

  • @newyorkhomeboi AVGN already reviewed it

  • @wildboyintraining He reviewed the Jaguar unit but the CD add ons he had didn't work. If you recall the review he sent it to be fixed but Richard couldn't fix it and sent him a Pong console. Which still worked after all these years.

  • @newyorkhomeboi He has a working one now. There's nothing really to review because nearly all the games are ports

  • Lol it's jaguar cd not sega cd.

  • LOL 3DO sold 2MILLION and Atari JAGSHIT sold 260,000!!!!

  • "Jag-wire"? Every documentary I've known says "Jag-rawr".

But that aside, this could have been an okay system if not for the controller.

  • @ACluelessKid they got documentary about ATARI?

  • @tHeWasTeDYouTh

Maybe, but that wasn't what I meant. I meant every documentary that refers to Jaguar, the animal.

  • I only have a few games for my Jaguar: "Atari Karts" (flawed but fun), "Cybermorph" (fairly boring, but I've played far worse), "Tempest 2000" (fun), "Bubsy" (good, but too hard with sub-par graphics), "Club Drive" (so bad it's good!). "7800 didn't do very well" I disagree, it was a moderate success IMHO.

  • where did you learn to fly where did you learn to fly where did you learn to fly where did you learn to fly where did you learn to fly where did you learn to fly where did you learn to fly where did you learn to fly where did you learn to fly

  • Send your working one to James Rolfe so he can properly review it?

  • @JoeWithTheGlasses I agree please send your working Jaguar cd to the Nerd

  • @thunderstudent He has a working one now, he probably won't review it because there's only about 5 original games for it and all the others are ports. Besides he shouldn't have to give away a rare item just because a reviewer needs one

  • He already has a working one, but the games aren't review worthy.

  • @JoeWithTheGlasses I honestly don't see the problem with Gamester's review. James has a unique way of reviewing games and systems, but half the time, this entails that he bends over and physically takes a diarrhea dump on the offending system. Funny. AVGN is skit- and comedy-based, and Gamester explores the history of the device and company--very informative. And there's nothing wrong with that--unless you have a tremendously short attention span, that is.

  • @JoeWithTheGlasses I agree this guy is soooooooooooooooo boooooooooooring!!!

  • No A/V! You mean no RCA outputs? The Jaguar can output to: RF, Composite, S-Video, VGA and RGB. All you need is the right cable or a little of handy work.

  • Cybermorph lol "where did YOU learn to fly?"

  • I got suckered into buying one.

  • YOUR COLLECTION OF SYSTEMS MUST HAVE COST A FORTUNE

  • Can you plug this into any TV?

  • This actually looks like it could have thrived and Atari could still be a company today if they had not released the crappy Jaguar and simply released the CD portion as its own system. It has great graphics (from my perspective) and it looks smooth unlike many games on Nintendo 64. That was a big design failure. If only they would have waited, who knows what Atari could have done today...

  • Half the amount of people who bought the system watched this video heh.

  • Hey John, sure some1 has told you but there is a S-Video/Composite cable. It plugs into that open slot. They're pricey on ebay. KUDOS TO YOU FOR HAVING A WORKING CD ADD-ON. Awesome review. Cool history behind this one!

  • Okay everyone lets say it together:

Jag(like the crap U.S TV Series)

U (as in YOU can't speak correctly)

Ar (as in You ARE an idiot)

    Jag-U-Ar

  • I think that the CD thing from the early 90s is similar to the primitive 3D craze that is happening now.

  • Man you americans really got the short end of the Jaguar. My european Jaguar does have an AV out and an AV cable which actually came with the system, no custom shit.

Also, the power light on the european Jaguar is green not red. Hells yeah.

  • you have too much of a bad ass voice to be doing this

  • It's pronounced "Jag-war" not "Jag-wire"

  • @Quartrez

    Wrong.

  • @SonikkuZaHedgehog127 No, it's right >_>

  • @Quartrez

    Actually, they're both right.

  • @Quartrez you can pronounce it either way moron

  • Comment removed

  • @halodystroyer44 Really. Where do you see something that's pronounced "i" in "uar" -_- Seriously, THINK. And BTW, "moron" really ? Couldn't come up with something a little more, I don't know... civil ?

  • @Quartrez could have said dumb fuck like everyone else on youtube. but I didn't.

  • @halodystroyer44 Pfft.

  • Comment removed

  • You forgot that the last console Atari worked on was the LYNX, not the 7800.

And yeah, Jaguar had the BEST ports of many FPS games back then, specially Wolfenstein 3D and DOOM.

And that Alien Vs. Predator game was and is superior than any other related AvP game released until now.

  • How do you hook this thing up without an AV out? How do I find the right frequency?

  • good THIS ONE WORKS

  • ridiculous in design, no wonder it is a failure

  • Sometime around midnight.. You rock, man.

  • Whoa, you have a _functional_ Jaguar CD console?! How did you manage to get it to work?

  • the reason they made a cd addon was to try and keep the atari jaguar alive.

  • Nobody says Jag-wire, nobody "across the pond" says Jagwah. I've heard it Jag-wahr, jaguar, or jag-you-are (as stated previously).

  • born and raised in the states and we dont say jag-wire...must be a regional dialect thing

  • here in britain we say 'jag-you-are' :)

  • Great review but u said sega cd like a million times. Also wtf is a atari jag-wire? You said that a trillion times.

  • I want you to do a review of the grilled stuft burrito

  • give the jaguar cd to angry video game nerd, also it's jaguar not jag-wire

  • Jag-toilet.

  • Sorry, should of been more clear, I'm not from the UK, I'm from Canada. Or how in the US to say water they say "wa-dah" In Canada we pronounce the "T" and we also pronounce the "ER" that they leave out south of the border.

  • @EdGuila No, I prefer to pronounce words properly myself and I am from way south of the border... aka South Florida. Everyone talks different everywhere. No one every guesses at where I am from... which reminds me everytime I am back home in Fort Lauderdale people think I am canadian. Anyways I just like to not sound like an idiot. People that talk like that are just lazy truthfully EdGuila…

  • @EdGuila

What the hell, do you get your knowledge of American dialect from, Jersey Shore? It's a big fucking place, you know. And if you ask the Brits, they'd say we're both wrong and call it the Jag-u-are or something, which is fine by me.

  • Comment removed

  • I bet the panther would have been a shit fuck of a lot better.

  • What's with US accent??

    It's JaGUAR, not Jagwire,

    It's McDONalds not McDANALDS

    It's AMerica, not EMerica.

  • @EdGuila

you get back to us when you know the difference between a biscuit and a cookie, and why you cant get them at the same shopPE.

  • @EdGuila

    Whats with YOU?

WHO CARES about differences in dialect?

  • Speak for your self Gamester81 we Bostonians drop the R's also. Maybe we are just lazy.

  • jagwire is good cables for bycicles

  • Stop throwing the stuff to each other...

  • Oh and I am nearly 90% positive that you did need the so-called memory track to save games. Any proof that this is not the case?

  • @MrTerrificII HAHAHA, he got u saying Sega CD ALSO! Sega has nothing to do with the Jaguar CD attachment!

  • Im in the states and i dont say "Jag Wire".

  • why would atari sue sony for price dumping? sounds stupid to me

  • why do you umm ummm umm after every sentence? its annoying

  • You said Sega CD about 3 times! Also, u forgot to mention that there was a cartridge required to save the games with the CD attachment. Cart Jag games save to the cart itself which is pretty cool...

  • @pdgable

Incorrect. The cartridge you mentioned was for extended memory to save games. It was NOT "required!" However, if you wished to save several games, you needed it. The Sega CD had limited memory to save but it did have memory for saving games!

  • I got atari j. :-)

  • oh, I don’t know if anyone’s said it yet, but there was an AV cord, it’s just very hard to find...

  • lol i love that at 7: 20 good song the quality just sucks this guy just got 2o awesome points from me :)

  • Jag-wire?

  • @MilleniumSlickRick Yea wtf, is that really how you say it the US?

  • I remember owning this when I was younger, Kasmumi Warrior and AVP was the shit back then!

  • Jag-Wire?

  • ummmm ummmmm ummmm ummmm ummmm ummm

  • I remember back in 1994 when they brought it to Greece,2 months didn't pass and they gave as an offer by collecting 10 coupons from a newspaper and sending them along with about 150$ (50000 dracmes)but with no games and you could not find any very easy

  • Cool

  • @luketiger87 NOne of that even makes sense.....

  • @luketiger87 lol..uuhh...what?

  • I actually have the AV out cable for this system because the RF was total shit.

It really improved the video signal. When I think back I cant believe how many games I actually managed to get for this money pit.

  • Why doesn't this thing have 4 wheels and a 400hp engine? Jk

  • I was the only one of my friends that had this, and they all enjoyed playing on it. I loved the Jaguar.

  • Looks like a toilet with the cd ad on

  • I'm American and have always pronounced it Jagwire. Haters gonna hate.

  • i really wish my father hadnt had sold his turbo grafix 16 with the cd attachment..

  • Sega cd, Sega cd. Haha are you drunk dude? Excellent video otherwise!!

  • who cares how he says Jaguar??? juts enjoy the review already :D

  • Even the controller says Can't Be Arsed

  • Just FYI. There are AV cables for the Atari Jaguar. If you want to look on Ebay, you can even find S-Video for it., That gives you the clearest picture and sound quality

  • Damn,The Jaguar is still on the list to get :0(

Im poor and live in Up North Minnesota, not an easy find(I did get a Boxed Intelevision with 5 boxed games and a recite for $5.00)!

I have a Lynx and really like Blue Thunder on it ;0)

  • Nice review and all, but please dont tell me how I say Jaguar... I'm from the states and I definately do not say Jagwire...

  • Jagwire?

  • it is def JAGUAR not JAGWIRE

  • @eddyAMP it is the jaguar not def jaguar

  • Us in the uk say jag-u-ar

  • who cares how he said

  • I'm Australian.

I say it with the R.

I also don't throw in an extra W like a complete douche Yank.

    Please learn how to speak.

  • @crocodile2006 I'm an American, and we don't pronounce it "jag-wire" either. I don't know where this guy learned to say it.

  • @crocodile2006

    >Australian

    Stopped reading right there.

  • the music quality sounds like its 32kbps @_@

  • I think what many early cd based games did wrong was .. to many tried to be well you know in game videos.. adding nice looking selection screens with little animated things. THAT made it slow

Later games we're much simpler in what they did show you before they let you enter the actual gameplay.

  • jagwire lol

  • that flying game is very similar to afterburner climax

  • my friend had this when we were little and i remember how upset he was that he spent so much money on it because there wasnt any games he could find. and the fighting games he had the controller had so many buttons that u could do a finishing move just touching 1 button

  • looks like a toilet when you stack the cd on top and a cartrige into cd attachment

  • looks like a toilet when you stack the cd on top and a cartrige into cd attachment

  • J J J JAG WIRE

  • the avgn tried the jaguar CD...and it didn't work for some resone...it just showed the jaguar logo and the red scean...why didn't it work?

  • @2000platonew the AVGN's Jaguar CD is busted, something inside is completely fried and that red-screen represents that the system is having, In Mortal Combat Terms, H-H-Hardware Failure!

Imagene if the processor in your computer got fried and you did not have a secondary. your system refuses to work. Thats the same thing with the Jaguar, and the AVGN's friend did not feel up to resoldering an entire console system to see W.T.F. went wrong.

Long story short, His Jaguar CD is broken.

  • @Kirathewolf1 hmm.i guess that make's sence.

  • @Kirathewolf1 He could probably look into a fuse or a leaking capacitor before doing that soldering crap. That was the stupidest thing to try ever, totally made the whole review to a look amateur and silly. Wipe the connector, still not working, end of story, if not, also. It's a really nice 2 parter of AVGN, but i have to skip the last part with the "fixing" of the CD addon because i'm almost getting some kind of a seizure from watching the mere stupidity right there.

  • dude cool thing but you should work on your AH's.

  • LET'S PLAY SOME JAG!

  • Whats Witt he 'No AV cable comments?'. The Jaguar only supports RF, Composite, S-Video, RGB and VGA, so selections are minimal for a 90's console, but you could go out and buy one.

  • Jeff Minter made the VLM Virtual Light mashine watch?v=e2iMeJHx3QM#6m50s gotta love that guy and those wacky ideas :)

  • STOP with this avgn shit already

  • It was the third last, there was the Flashback and Flashback 2. I hope they make a Flashback 3 (though I probably won't get it)

  • danm you really have a working jaguar cd at least do a favor and lend it to james rolfe so he can review all the games for j cd he have

  • @danielpalwisegamer he has a working one now

  • @yeahmanwassup You're kidding, right?

  • @powerpup97 No im not. he REALLY has a working one now

  • If he sent it to the AVGN, then it would break by the time he got it.

  • @HaloSpartanG13 he has a working one now

  • Send it to AVGN DAMNIT!!!

  • @whaowman he has a working one now

  • your all wrong ...its pronounced Jagah-huh-hah-huw-wire-rah....obviously.

  • jag-u-uh

  • They did release an av cable. And plus right into the back. I have one for mine.

  • The AVGN needs this!!!

  • @FallenAngelH3 he has a working one now

  • I've never heard Jag-wire. Its Jagwar

  • @RoryRedBrooklyn We brits pronounce it Jag-u-er.

  • @SquiffyTrout Really? How do you pronounce "Our nation is no longer a world power"?

  • @RoryRedBrooklyn Wow, you bring up empires in a Console vid.

There is so much shit that I could say about fuckin' ol' 'USA' it's untrue.

So don't get me started Troll, unless you want to lose an argument.
