Yeah dude you're the best collector on the world. You have all the good stuff! But the AVGN is the best reviewer, that's why people are saying all this.
The Jaguar is not a 64 bit system it had to 32 bit cpu's connected to a graphic enhancer THATS CHEATING ATARI ! thats why it looks so different to the n64
Honestly Jags were a piece of junk, the games I knew for it were terrible. Though when I lost my 1st gen Genesis' adapter, I was lucky enough to find that the Jaguar's adapter is pretty much identical to it, at least that Jaguar served some purpouse XD.
I bught the jag when it came out and it still works great. Cant say the same about the cd-rom. It spins and stos, spins and stops and will not read the discs :-( To replace the unit is pretty costly on ebay and i have considered replacing the laser pickup unit. I had a special RGB cable made to allow it to work in RGB mode on my 1084s monitor. Jag, Genesis, SNES all looked excellent in RGB.
Not many know this but the sequel to the Jag is 'unofficially' the NUON.
I think if you have the original boxes you should definitely show them. It can be quite Interesting to see the designs, pictures and no doubt humorous wording etc from the time period! :)
The Jaguar CD was released for only two reasons, the first was to keep their promise that they were going to release the addon, and the other reason was to recoup some of the money lost in developing the addon. It can be considered the Atari counterpart of the N64-DD which was released for the same reasons.
Okay lol look at all the 3rd graders say "haha he said jagwire" look at how fucking gay and retarded you fucking are When u say jaguar sometimes it sounds like jagwire but since ur in the 3rd grade and your best and only friend is sponge bob and ur fucking gay, u wouldn't know
@wildboyintraining He reviewed the Jaguar unit but the CD add ons he had didn't work. If you recall the review he sent it to be fixed but Richard couldn't fix it and sent him a Pong console. Which still worked after all these years.
I only have a few games for my Jaguar: "Atari Karts" (flawed but fun), "Cybermorph" (fairly boring, but I've played far worse), "Tempest 2000" (fun), "Bubsy" (good, but too hard with sub-par graphics), "Club Drive" (so bad it's good!). "7800 didn't do very well" I disagree, it was a moderate success IMHO.

@thunderstudent He has a working one now, he probably won't review it because there's only about 5 original games for it and all the others are ports. Besides he shouldn't have to give away a rare item just because a reviewer needs one
@JoeWithTheGlasses I honestly don't see the problem with Gamester's review. James has a unique way of reviewing games and systems, but half the time, this entails that he bends over and physically takes a diarrhea dump on the offending system. Funny. AVGN is skit- and comedy-based, and Gamester explores the history of the device and company--very informative. And there's nothing wrong with that--unless you have a tremendously short attention span, that is.
No A/V! You mean no RCA outputs? The Jaguar can output to RF, Composite, S-Video, VGA and RGB. All you need is the right cable or a little of handy work.
No A/V! You mean no RCA outputs? The Jaguar can output to: RF, Composite, S-Video, VGA and RGB. All you need is the right cable or a little of handy work.
This actually looks like it could have thrived and Atari could still be a company today if they had not released the crappy Jaguar and simply released the CD portion as its own system. It has great graphics (from my perspective) and it looks smooth unlike many games on Nintendo 64. That was a big design failure. If only they would have waited, who knows what Atari could have done today...
Hey John, sure some1 has told you but there is a S-Video/Composite cable. It plugs into that open slot. They're pricey on ebay. KUDOS TO YOU FOR HAVING A WORKING CD ADD-ON. Awesome review. Cool history behind this one!
Man you americans really got the short end of the Jaguar. My european Jaguar does have an AV out and an AV cable which actually came with the system, no custom shit.
Also, the power light on the european Jaguar is green not red. Hells yeah.
@halodystroyer44 Really. Where do you see something that's pronounced "i" in "uar" -_- Seriously, THINK. And BTW, "moron" really ? Couldn't come up with something a little more, I don't know... civil ?

What the hell, do you get your knowledge of American dialect from, Jersey Shore? It's a big fucking place, you know. And if you ask the Brits, they'd say we're both wrong and call it the Jag-u-are or something, which is fine by me.
You said Sega CD about 3 times! Also, u forgot to mention that there was a cartridge required to save the games with the CD attachment. Cart Jag games save to the cart itself which is pretty cool...
Incorrect. The cartridge you mentioned was for extended memory to save games. It was NOT "required!" However, if you wished to save several games, you needed it. The Sega CD had limited memory to save but it did have memory for saving games!
I remember back in 1994 when they brought it to Greece,2 months didn't pass and they gave as an offer by collecting 10 coupons from a newspaper and sending them along with about 150$ (50000 dracmes)but with no games and you could not find any very easy
Just FYI. There are AV cables for the Atari Jaguar. If you want to look on Ebay, you can even find S-Video for it., That gives you the clearest picture and sound quality

@2000platonew the AVGN's Jaguar CD is busted, something inside is completely fried and that red-screen represents that the system is having, In Mortal Combat Terms, H-H-Hardware Failure!

You forgot that the last console Atari worked on was the LYNX, not the 7800.
And yeah, Jaguar had the BEST ports of many FPS games back then, specially Wolfenstein 3D and DOOM.
And that Alien Vs. Predator game was and is superior than any other related AvP game released until now.
