David Cameron should have shown some respect for those who lost their homes in Major's Black Wednesday mess before saying how proud he was of what John Major had done for the country. The Tory Party under Major's leadership caused thirteen years of Labour. See John Major Black Wednesday.
Cameron and Osbourne said they WOULD HAVE LET THE BANKS GO UNDER! Wed be like GREECE now. Vote for whoever has the best chance of keeping them out. THE RISK IS TOO BIG!
funny how these politicians 'want' this and 'want' that then follw it up with the reason being becuase they themselves have kids.

don't worry George, your kids will have a fantastic life and i doubt they will be affected by the paying off of the BANKS DEBTS. Will they be going to an inner london school? lol, name down for eaton, oxford? prorbably. how will that be paid? expenses?

Listen your an enemy of the UK George Osborne attended a Billdergerg meeting, your the enemy of the UK and you will be brought down. And tell your buddy Rothschild that to.
It could also lead to a gilts strike. You need a mandate to push through the necessary cuts. You are not popular because you are as sneaky and wormlike as Blair and his spin doctors. You claim to be tough yet you won't even consider reform of the NHS to make it cheaper and more efficient. You compete with Labour for the fabled centre ground. This 'consensus' politics has destroyed participation because there are no differences anymore. Party membership has slumped, as has turnout.
You aren't tough. You have as much moral cowardice as Labour. It wasn't a serious speech... it was an ambigious and self congratulatory press release written by a talentless spin doctor. Stop destroying my party Mr Cameron. You will regret it one day.
Just remember the bond markets have not factored in a Tory government. If they downgrade our debt because of your ambiguity surrounding debt, you will only have yourself to blame. Your timidityon debt could lead to a run on sterling.
What difficult decisions Mr Cameron? You have announced £1.5 billion worth of cuts! That is a pittance when the deficit is £175 billion. The bond markets are becoming nervous because you and Osborne are even more economically illiterate than Brown and Darling. You don't have any experience with economics and business. The Conservative Party used to have financially and economically literature members, but you have emasculated my party and filled it with Cameroon clones.
Not to worry.... We now have a taxpayer-funded Anglophile helping scheme to get them back on the straight and narrow!
Paste this title into the bar:
NEW LABOUR - RUBBING BRITAIN'S NOSE IN NEO-MARXIST SH*T! (CONCEPT SINGLE 20)
Because if you want your national borders porous (despite we being an island), your paedophiles pampered and your Christmasses banned, then VOTE LABOUR!
oh and life under thatcher was better was it you must have a very short memory LET ME REMIND YOU The sas retraining the khmer rouge to commit geniocide again lovely thatcher policy eh closing down the coal and steel industry and decimating the lives of millions the poll tax and the poll tax riots REMEMBER
GOOD LORD I really wish people would fuck off talking about closing the mines..it was 20 years ago and the mines were not profitable LET IT GO! and yeah the poll tax was unfair but council tax is just as bad and LABOUR has increased it and increased it
Labour was a good government till 2001 when they went on a dept binge. Encouraged people to borrow money beyond there means and created a housing bubble. Sold over half our gold when gold was at a 20 year low. Increased the welfare state to unaffordable levels. Payed GPs over twice as much for working less. Sold our sovereignty to the EU. Started an illegal war with Iraq just so they could be buddys with Bush killing hundreds of our troops and thousands of Iraqs.
All I can say fine speeches from fine men who would;
-Abolish a minimum waiting time to see a Cancer specialist (therefore you could be waiting for months
-And a man who believes the rich should become richer and I wonder what happens to the working class ohhh I know silly me Dave! we are the ones that make them richer.
I'll never vote for concervative because I can't trust them, Remember what happen to so called Margaret Thatcher and John Major they told everyone promised but never happen, Message to everyone NEVER TRUST TORIES
I worry that we could have Cameron / Osborne running the UK shortly - here is their ``potted` CV`s.
Cameron - PR man with Carlton Communications then political adviser roles before becoming MP in 2001. Now pitching to be UK Prime Minister.
Osborne - Data Inputer for NHS then to Selfridges, on to political advsier, speech writer and secretary. Now applying to be Chancellor of the Exchequer.
Yes, Mr Cameron may have personalty, however this is just make-up. Give me SUBSTANCE anyday.
Why was Kenneth Clarke allowed to swagger about and yap on about his support for small businesses.
He is the very one along with Hurd and Heseltine who advised the incompetent John Major to force crippling interest rates onto small businesses .
Their keep the pound in the ERM at any price policy and the callous way the Conservatives played cat and mouse with peoples mortgage rates was how we ended up with twelve years of Labour.
Mr. Osborne and your speechwriters: please avoid trying to create memorable refrains in your speeches. "We are all in this together" repeated seven times was unneeded and ineffective - the reason I remembered it was because I was thinking "please don't say that again". This is not America, we do not need to be fed a one-liner. Politics is more important than that and you cannot create charisma even using clever phrases nevermind rather pointless ones.
When the Tories came in in the early fifties they exported all the best coal, and imported cheaper coal to make money, and caused the London smogs that killed thousands. Same sort of story again and again, since, more or less.
Sadly, with the words here, they are still the same.Labour has semi-nationalised some banks, and the billions that will be coming back in profits over the years should not be underestimated, could result in tens of billions very quickly.
Just look at Margaret Thatcher & John Major they've destroy british, I'm sure David Cameron do the same they always say we'll be better in future if Tories success but we'll be in laughing stock just what happened to past Tories, It all lies, But I still not sure if I vote for Labour or Lib-Dem they might do the same?????
Brown and Blair failed Britain, Cameron and the Conservatives are ahead in the polls for this reason pure and simple. However Cameron and Osborne are not what this country deserves and we will soon find out. I'm neither pro-Labour, Lib-Dem or indeed Conservative, I am pro-Britain. The biggest problem this country faces now is the economy and the two best minds in politics have no chance of ever having the chance to lead and I'm referring to Vincent Cable and Kenneth Clarke.A real shame
Let`s look at it another way then - what`s the work record of Cameron & Osborne - here`s their potted CV`s
Cameron - PR man with Carlton Communications, then political advisor roles before becoming MP in 2001. Now pitching to be Prme Minister of UK.
Osborne - Data inputer for NHS Services was followed by working at Selfridges, then politcal advisor, then speech writer & secretary. Now pitching to be Chancellor of the Exchequer.
To so many comment posters, I say this. Instead of regurgitating Labour propaganda and old prejudices about Tory policy, about which you clearly know nothing, how about you pay attention to the policies and arguments being put forward. If you did you might just have an informed vote next year.
Brown's 'substance and sincerity' counts for nothing (Lisbon, investment vs cuts and failure to call an election when one was needed are among his biggest cheats/lies as PM). If gift=stunt, Brown is intellectually gifted. As Chancellor he sold 60% of Britain's gold reserves at the bottom of the market. That's a real genius we've got. His drive and determination is all he has - no regard for the opinions of others - he has a monopoly on absolute good and right. Even if he's wrong, he's not.
@tasem30 Sleaze is far worse under Labour, they lied to take us to war, which the Tories never stooped so low as to do. Black Wednesday cost the UK taxpayer £3.5 billion, pale in comparison to a deficit of £175 billion and debt of £4 trillion. The Unions drove Britain to a standstill, in the recent recession with less Union power people have accepted pay cuts and unemployent hasn't soared as much.
I wish there was a good political party in this country none of them really do anything for me they are all thieves on wheels. I hate the God damn alliance with the Ulster Unionists.
I personally had good times under the Tories .. labour have wrecked this country. No we won't put up taxes ... WHAT ... just look at national insurance and the waste of the tax payers money .. get rid of this bunch of Labour liers ....
Jam tommorrow, I had 18 years of the torys, with out jam without hope, and 12 years of the same from new Labour, a waisted life, dead end jobs shattered dreams, forget it. The torys nor labour will get my vote again, I will vote Uk indepentance part, maybe it will be a waisted vote but it will be my vote and not yours, the only jam I see is the jam Mps put ion there pockets while asking others to make cuts.
"Extremely refreshing" !??? Without going into the short-sightedness of Osborne's proposals, or the fact that labour have already committed themselves to equally substantial cuts on westminster pay/quangos, how is it remotely refreshing to hear Cameron speak day after day about the failings of the government.
How about a real change? How about neither of the two big parties? They've stolen the Liberals Ground to win elections, but we don't want the liberals either. The big push for britains future green economy based on high-tech economical designs and engineering would be better instituted by a party concerned with nature. How about a Green government? Or since most right-wingers are UKIP these days we go with them? Why do we need the big 2/3 parties all the time? they're all crap.
last 50 yrs of my life i have seen political parties do their best and worse and i can tell you this country works better with conservative.. thats a fact.. Labour has lost it they sell us down the river and give to foriengers , stuff em .. lets have a change a change is better than staying with brown and his arseholes
The tories aren't going to change anything except for worse, as they are loyal to the existing power structure. You have the opportunity to vote for different masks on the same face, which still continue the globalist agenda. Research the new world order.
its people like you Scoobs1996 and conachcraig that are holding this country back from much needed change. It is a global crisis, but if gordan hadn't gone and spent all our money as chancellor we'd be like Norway and still have reserves and the crisis would be no where near as big for us, now go and bugger off you stupid socialist, and watch labour sink into the oblivion as Cameron enters number 10 to sort out this mess.
its people like Tory toffs that want the 80s and 90s suffering to return. I hope the tories get in and cause so many problems as many experts say they will.
I predicted this would happen 12 years ago when they gained power. This country was bankrupt the last time that labour were in power I remember inflation rates of 24% under Wilson / Callaghan, if it wasn't for Maggie curbing the Unions the unions we would now be under a dictator like A Scargill the hypocrite.
As a postscript I must add that all you tory supporters who really do believe that you are right are to be pitied as you are so sadly deluded.
The tories only care about their own kind (or those that they think are their own kind), people who think they are a cut above, better than everyone else, middle class (whatever that is), superior, wealthier etc etc etc.
Tories don't and never have cared about anyone but themselves.
History has shown them for what they are when will you ever learn ?
The Tories left power with the country well on the way up and Brown followed the same policies for the first couple of years then handed the economy to the Banks are they fit to run it NO because they have a vested interest in making money for themselves just look at the bonuses they get for doing nothing the golden handshakes this government has left our borders wide open & the world wants to come here for a free ride the sooner Brown his corrupt MPs go the better it will be for us all
75% of our laws now come from Brussels and not Westminster , say yes to that treaty and we will be governed by Germany and France, I feel so sad that all those who lost there live in two world wars will be for nothing as Finally through the back door they get what they wanted ten, it disgusts me and this Labour government wants and has handed them quite enough as it is. Move forward is that what you call this amazing cockup
We won't be 'governed' by Germany and France. You talk about being sad about those who lost their lives in 2 world wars, surely you are clever enough to be able to learn from history and see that Europe is ravaged by wars when every country is split and with its own political agenda. European integration ensures peace, what the Allies were fighting for in the two world wars. Do you still think Germany is Nazi?
This will not ensure peace quite the opposite look what happened to Yugoslavia when several nations were integrated, I for one want our Gov to rule us not Europe I am not against trade agreements that we did vote for but I never voted for a super state being governed by Brussels 75% of our laws now come via Brussels. And yes Nazis are rife in the EU assembly look it up on the net and you will find out Also do not question my cleverness you do not know me. Apologies accepted
Yes indeed, ..a very refreshing outlook which differs so much from Labour's. We need all politicians to be as empathic and considered as George clearly is. A good speech and one that is an excellent pre-cursor to respectable policies that the public want and have hoped for so much during the last few years. This is a party worth voting for, sounding like a breath of fresh air all round. Excellent.
I certainly do not wish to sell our culture 'down the drain' but our culture is freedom. No hyperbole or bullshit. That is our culture. It started in 1381 with the Peasant's Revolt and it earned our freedom bit by bloody bit. Our culture is not invested in the idea that virtue can be passed down through closed-off bloodlines. But that virtue is the merit of free peoples with all the facts at hand. Freedom is Great Britain, and Great Britain is nothing without it. Monarchy opposes freedom.
Hardly...and "Nu Liebour" what the heck is that? The Labour Party is done for, and rightly so, But a landslide majority is NOT good for any country, particularly one in dire economic difficulty. It results in arrogance and complacency which makes for bad decisions. Margaret Thatcher was a good economist, but her worst decisions (and her most memorable) were those made on her strong majority wins at the elections.
Looks like the tories are back at the next elections. Another political landslide majority which will make them think they're unbeatable and uncontrollable, giving them license to do whatever they damned well please. No thanks. Had enough of that from Labour. We all know the tories are getting in, and that's a good thing, but everyone should go out and vote Lib Dem, UKIP or Green instead: Maybe get a Hung Parliament and put a leash on Party arrogance.
Why a monarchist? What has the royal family done for Britain except oppress, deny and denigrate our freedom. I certainly wouldn't want a republic, those popularity contests for power don't work either; but the Royal Family are outdated, outmoded, irrelevant and pointless. Why would you defend people who subjugate you?
in fact seeing as the Queen is a Constituitional Monarch its her job to make sure wannabe dictators don't get into power, therefore she defends our freedom and i don't personally see anything wrong with a bit of God save the Queen here and there to be honest.
The Conservatives need to be conservatives. Like Daniel Hannan, they need to support real free markets, less government spending, a flat tax and an end to government intervention in our social lives. We need our civil liberties and our economic liberties back.
Getting out of Iraq, less CCTV cameras and allowing councils to control their own tax systems. No more welfare-warfare-nanny state. 'Liberty is not the means to a political end. It itself is the highest political end'.
I like to spend my holidays in Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea. What caused the housing bubble was the Bank Of England keeping interest rates too low.
Free markets? Less government spending? Sounds like New Labour all over again...
Also, beforehand Cameron was agreeing that the public would know where the Tories would be spending their money - albeit he agreed in a sketchy manor ( 0:29 ) but in the speech there was very little about where money would be spent.
Improve childrens' future, make life better... blah blah blah...
David Cameron should have shown some respect for those who lost their homes in Major's Black Wednesday mess before saying how proud he was of what John Major had done for the country. The Tory Party under Major's leadership caused thirteen years of Labour. See John Major Black Wednesday.

last 50 yrs of my life i have seen political parties do their best and worse and i can tell you this country works better with conservative.. thats a fact.. I think the economy will be safe in the hands of George Osborne - far safer than it is with Darling for certain.

The tories aren't going to change anything except for worse, as they are loyal to the existing power structure. You have the opportunity to vote for different masks on the same face, which still continue the globalist agenda. Research the new world order.
boogaloo80 2 years ago
its people like you Scoobs1996 and conachcraig that are holding this country back from much needed change.
VOTE TORY!
scunny1994 2 years ago 3
its people like Tory toffs that want the 80s and 90s suffering to return. I hope the tories get in and cause so many problems as many experts say they will.

I predicted this would happen 12 years ago when they gained power. This country was bankrupt the last time that labour were in power I remember inflation rates of 24% under Wilson / Callaghan, if it wasn't for Maggie curbing the Unions the unions we would now be under a dictator like A Scargill the hypocrite.
oldnick002 2 years ago
As a postscript I must add that all you tory supporters who really do believe that you are right are to be pitied as you are so sadly deluded.
The tories only care about their own kind (or those that they think are their own kind), people who think they are a cut above, better than everyone else, middle class (whatever that is), superior, wealthier etc etc etc.
Tories don't and never have cared about anyone but themselves.
History has shown them for what they are when will you ever learn ?
conachcraig 2 years ago
The Tories left power with the country well on the way up and Brown followed the same policies for the first couple of years then handed the economy to the Banks are they fit to run it NO because they have a vested interest in making money for themselves just look at the bonuses they get for doing nothing the golden handshakes this government has left our borders wide open & the world wants to come here for a free ride the sooner Brown his corrupt MPs go the better it will be for us all

I can not imagine what would have happened If the conservative party was in power during the recession.
just thinking of it scares me.
Move forward and vote labour!!

Move forward is that what you call this amazing cockup
oldnick002 2 years ago
We won't be 'governed' by Germany and France. You talk about being sad about those who lost their lives in 2 world wars, surely you are clever enough to be able to learn from history and see that Europe is ravaged by wars when every country is split and with its own political agenda. European integration ensures peace, what the Allies were fighting for in the two world wars. Do you still think Germany is Nazi?
JohnMerrick93 2 years ago
This will not ensure peace quite the opposite look what happened to Yugoslavia when several nations were integrated, I for one want our Gov to rule us not Europe I am not against trade agreements that we did vote for but I never voted for a super state being governed by Brussels 75% of our laws now come via Brussels. And yes Nazis are rife in the EU assembly look it up on the net and you will find out Also do not question my cleverness you do not know me. Apologies accepted

When will people realise that there has been a GLOBAL recession which started in the USA ?
This is not a Labour creation and to constantly blame the Government for everything is totally ludicrous.
Thank God the tories have not been in power over the last decade as we would be in a far greater mess now than we are.
Perhaps it will take a tory government for the British to realise that they have the best possible government now.
It's sad.

Excellent.

disgusting and hopefully this will lose the tories the election

JDark89 2 years ago 2
Looks like the tories are back at the next elections. Another political landslide majority which will make them think they're unbeatable and uncontrollable, giving them license to do whatever they damned well please. No thanks. Had enough of that from Labour. We all know the tories are getting in, and that's a good thing, but everyone should go out and vote Lib Dem, UKIP or Green instead: Maybe get a Hung Parliament and put a leash on Party arrogance.
JDark89 2 years ago
Oh so Gordon can carry on running the country with the help of the Liberal (they're not) and Green parties?
What a fantastic idea.
Oh wait.

i'm currently torn between these guys and UKIP and i want a straight answer on the EU from these guys.
UKMonarchist 2 years ago 2
Why a monarchist? What has the royal family done for Britain except oppress, deny and denigrate our freedom. I certainly wouldn't want a republic, those popularity contests for power don't work either; but the Royal Family are outdated, outmoded, irrelevant and pointless. Why would you defend people who subjugate you?
JDark89 2 years ago
in fact seeing as the Queen is a Constituitional Monarch its her job to make sure wannabe dictators don't get into power, therefore she defends our freedom and i don't personally see anything wrong with a bit of God save the Queen here and there to be honest.
UKMonarchist 2 years ago 3
Democracy is just as outdated but I don't see anyone clamouring to abolish that.
I've had enough of the anti monarchist briagde. Just a bunch of Nu Liebour supporters trying to put out culture even further down the drain.

The Conservatives need to be conservatives. Like Daniel Hannan, they need to support real free markets, less government spending, a flat tax and an end to government intervention in our social lives. We need our civil liberties and our economic liberties back.
Scoforever 2 years ago
to be fair its difficult to justify that with conservative principles

Getting out of Iraq, less CCTV cameras and allowing councils to control their own tax systems. No more welfare-warfare-nanny state. 'Liberty is not the means to a political end. It itself is the highest political end'.

We are out of Iraq.
Do any of you keep up with the news?

Sorry. I meant Afghanistan. 's just become natural for me to type that.

Because economic liberty has really done us a lot of favours hasn't it. Erm, oops, no it hasn't.

I like to spend my holidays in Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea. What caused the housing bubble was the Bank Of England keeping interest rates too low.
Scoforever 2 years ago
Free markets? Less government spending? Sounds like New Labour all over again...
Also, beforehand Cameron was agreeing that the public would know where the Tories would be spending their money - albeit he agreed in a sketchy manor ( 0:29 ) but in the speech there was very little about where money would be spent.
Improve childrens' future, make life better... blah blah blah...

That's what I think Cameron is. I am upset that he only wants to reduce public spending by 10%. We could do a lot better than that.
