@joaco4702 She's afraid to let herself be happy. She knows if she gets involved with him, it will be SERIOUS, and she's afraid that she'll let her guard down and be happy only to lose him like she lost her mother. Its irrational but she hasn't let anyone all the way in in any capacity since her mom died and it scares her that Castle has that ability if she takes that step.
