SOROS CAN SUCK IT...THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WILL DEFEAT THIS EVIL FREAK AND ALL OF HIS MINDLESS PROGRESSIVE ZOMBIE MINIONS! CRAWL BACK UNDERGROUND BEFORE THE 2012 ELECTION YOU PSYCHOS; YOU'RE STARTING TO STINK THE PLACE UP!
Haha this is interesting. Yet Universities DO teach speculating - it's all about financial engineering, math, and computer science. Look at hedge fund industry. Yet, investment or speculating or trading or swinging - what make them different with buying and selling? - By the way both Buffett and Soros are great and brilliant.
@Cheesesteakfreak Following that logic, Soros is at the very least a very special gambler, since the average gambler loses more often than not. I would say that rather than being merely a gambler, he's proved to possess an uncanny sense for market shifts, beyond traditional investment strategies.
Hillary Clinton is being preened to take President Maobama's place. Both Obama and Hilary answer to George Soros who contributed to both and who has the mainstream media in his back pocket. He gets Obama to take the Country to extreme socialism passing treasonous legislation against the will of the American people, then gets Hillary in office. Our dollar is on the verge of collapse, and our sovereignty is threatened as a direct result of legislation and lack of leadership.
If anything we could use annual returns. But like someone here said Soros is calculated over 30yrs. I read somewhere that Buffett's is 20+% over 50 years. So hard to compare since its different time frames. Plus like the vid says Soros has been active only sporadically over the years and devotes alot of time to pursuing his economic philosophies. And apparently Buffett's wealth is not 100% investing. He got alot of money from his insurance business and he's known to make changes to management.
Pretty damn hard to compare. Its like apples and oranges. Almost everything, from their main investment instruments, to the markets they're involved in, to their investing philosophies and approaches, is completely different! To state broadly Buffett uses value investing-buying shares of companies he feels are undervalued and holding on to them for long term. Soros has a much broader macroeconomic horizon and kinda uses his philosophy background to help him understand market movements.
The stock market "glitch" on May 10 was a manipulated warning to Congress, "either do what we say or we will destroy the nation via the stock market". In this video, Max Keiser says we can fight back by BOYCOTTING THEIR PRODUCTS, starting with Coca-Cola and Mr. Pibb owned by Warren Buffet. PLEASE JOIN ME IN THE BOYCOTT.
Max Keiser on the Stock Market Glitch Partt 5 (May 10, 2010)
You people might say buffet is the better investor but he was the biggest loser during the 2009 collapse. Soros is an international investor. He knows whats happening worldwide Buffet only knows about america and with the way he thinks (AMERICA IS GREAT) well hes wrong. The worst is yet to come. Watch some GERALD CELENTE videos.
As this guy said, it's a matter of speculation vs investing. Contrary to typical comments, both methods are known beat the market. But to figure out who the better investor is between these two, the real benchmark is my opinion is not their current worth but their average return per year. Stats have been published on Buffett, but I'm not sure about Soros, so it's hard to know.
In some ways I feel Soros is more "accidental" whereas Buffett's success seems more calculated.
I was of the same thought about Soros as you. And then I looked at his' hedge funds' returns year and year... To keep the long story short, Soros' success is no accident. Think of it as controlled chaos.
Interesting. I did some googling and found that Soros has had an average annual return of 32% since 1969. Unbelievable. Roughly on par with Buffett, I think. I can't wrap my head around how a guy who invests with chaos, as you put it, is able to earn such stellar gains. I bet the returns are pretty volatile from year to year, but amazing on the whole.
Current standings of richest people in the world. #2 Buffet @ $37B
#29 Soros @ $ 11B
They are the same age, so I don't think there is a question of who is a better investor. The styles differ, but I'm not big on Soros and his one world government thing...kinda scary.
This is a very easy question with a very simple answer...who made the most money - Warren Buffet of course..Buffett never ride trends...he look for intrinsic value of stocks and future valuations..he never sells despite the up and downs of the market...
Warrent Buffet just ride the trend, George Soros can see what Warren Buffet can't see. Any one can ride the trend, like the tech stocks or the housing market, but to see the up coming problems you need to be as smart as George Soros. Anti-capitalist speculator, is like trying to mix oil with water, how can you speculate and make money in cuba. Moron, pull out your brain out of your azz. But i think you don't have one.
Riding the trend? What the hell are you talking about? Seriously, you're so far from knowing anything about his techniques, I wouldn't even know where to begin.
I wouldn't go so far as to say "see what he can't see". Buffett is far from one who rides the trends. He has never invested in tech stocks even though his closest friend is Bill Gates. Most of the time, his investments occur when companies have become so unpopular that their share prices plummet. He's not a speculator like Soros, he's an investor. If you understood Buffett's Equity bond theory then you would gain some insight into his stock investments & why they work.
Soes it matter? They're both left wing so who cares.

@pollywogA1 tht is not true. Soros however, almost brings the British pound down with a very large bet. All of it was legal trading.
