P.S. I did personally witness these events myself 20 years ago. @danbison By certain techniques (google for it if u want), one can control Metabolism in the body. One need not materialize "food" satiate hunger, it can appeased by altering the metabolism as well. enough said, materialisation of real food is a thing of the past! Shirdi Sai Baba is said to have done such acts many times ! Anyway, the concepts of Sidhi, will power and altering nature are sort of hard to accept.

@danbison hey, Shirdi Sai Baba used to materialize food on almost daily basis !!! Even to this day, you can visit and see THE PLACE (dwarkamai ) where baba used to heat a pot, and pull out different dishes from same pot for different devotees.
@danbison Nice question! that had me thinking for while ... So, I cannot place a "general" rule as such. Perhaps the first step would be to look into the motivation for such an act. If there is an immediate monetary gain, then *mostly* such acts are 'tricks'.
@sakivg25 then by your standard Sai Baba is the ultimate trickster. I don't think many stage magicians outside of Las Vegas live such an opulent life as he. Regardless, that shouldn't be the standard. People's motivations are their own - but, Sai Baba's materializations look, to me, exactly like stage magic. And the only way to tell the difference would be to test scientifically. Not surprisingly, Sai Baba never submits to testing.

Sai Baba is just a mystic that doesnt make him God or any avatar. No where in the Srimad Bagavatham has there been any reference of this character to be an incarnation of God. Most likely a slight of hand trick just like the thousands you see by magicians. It would be much more convincing if no gathering of water was required, and the liquid both appeared and left the hand without the hand moving.

In 1994, I visited this place witha friend. Someone (not Halagappa) showed us the two amulets from which amrit supposedly comes out kept in a steel cup which already had about 30-40 ml of the liquid(amrith). The amulets were taken out (in seperate spoons) draining the liquid back into the cup as much as possible. Then me and my friend held the spoons with the amulets close to our eyes.Both of us could see that some liquid was definitely coming out of both the amulets ..contd

There is no proof for all these accusations. These rumours were created by a group of people in a very planned manner because of jealousy and to prevent donations that would otherwise have gone to them. And, how can Sai baba be responsible for the murder committed by someone else in his ashram. It is very clear that people are waiting to find fault with him and fabricate stories the moment something happens in his vicinity.
The fear of displeasure that I mentioned is not the kind you talk about. They treasure what they got from Baba and do not want that to be subject to any physical or chemical destructive testing that could stop the miracle from happening.

You must have heard people say that mine is all magic. But the manifestation of divine power must not be interpreted in terms of magic. Magicians play their tricks for earning their maintenance, worldly fame, and wealth. They are based on falsehood and they thrive on deceit, but this body could never stoop to such a low level. This body has come through the Lord's resolve to come. That resolve is intended to uphold truth (sathya).
Sai Baba has himself warned strongly in discourses against "happenings in Mysore" (Sathya Sai Speaks vol. 10, p. 186) and "in Mysore state there are some who distribute amrith, vibhuuthi and other articles announcing that they are showering from their pictures at their places... Devotees should keep far away from such places and persons" (Sathya Sai Speaks vol. 11, p. 147). His journal also put out a warning about the Mysore orphanage and money collection. So much for Halagappa's tricks.
There may be some people somewhere who claim vibhuti etc to come in their homes and they try to make money out of it. There are cheats. But we need to understand that in some homes the miracle really happens and they do not take money.. Halagappa is accepting donation for the sake of orphanage he is running.
In Sathya Sai Speaks p. 146: "In Mysore State there are some who distribute amrith, vibnuuthi (holy ash) and other articles announcing that they are showering from my pictures at their places; they do this free for some weeks, and later, they start begging for money, like any common mendicant! This is a sin..." A yet clearer reference to Halagappa.Sai Baba warned Al Drucker never to go there after he had visited. The office at Prashanthi told me he was not authorised to collect funds!

I won't mind agreeing with you on acceptance of donations by orphanage owner. This reference you have quoted of Sai Baba does not say it is not a miracle. This text only means a person should not start begging for money taking advantage of miracles happening in his residence. I do not know if Halagappa is asking for money or just accepting money if people donate for the orphanage children.
But peole who visit this place are interested in seeing a miracle and such miracles happen in some devotees' homes worldwide; Also, this does not mean SaiBaba has given his powers to them. It is their strong devotion to Sai that has helped a miracle happening there. Clearly, he is not reffering to such devotees.
I agree Sai Baba did not say that these are not miracles. Nor did he ever say they were miracles! It is you - and others looking for miracles - who simply believe this. Though you pretend to KNOW that there are any miracles there (or worldwide either), you have no proof - it is mere belief, and I would add, a result of indoctrination combined with your desire to believe what you want. Halagappa (and others) could easily get an objective evaluation by scientists, but it is NOT in his interests!
True it is not in such devotees' interest, because they have already felt blessed by Baba. They do not seek approval from others. It is unnecessary digression for them to get involved in scrutiny and investigations. Moreover, if they do so, they know it is going to be an endless exercise because even if one sceptic is convinced there are many more sceptical people who would want close inspection, examination and proof in their own ways and it is waste of time when there is no end to it.
If the cite (p 186f Vol 10) does not refer to the orphanage near Mysore, which happenings does it refer to? The text goes on: "I never allot in this manner, nor do I hand over my powers to anyone..." aand "They could carry a begging bowl and go from door to door; that at least will save them from a life of deceit and sacrilege." This describes Halagappa nicely.
Sai Baba denounced him (and Sanathana did after I reported to Kasturi) - and he told me himself (1985) about how Baba told him off!

At 1:24 just when we are about to see the hand actually fill up the camera pulls away. Notice how you don't ever actually see the hand empty and THEN fill up, it is already full when the camera is on the hand.
Then at 1:54 the hand is empty. A spoon then turns over the picture - the spoon just having been dipped into the bowl of amritha, and the picture is then seen to produce amritha, but it actually came off the spoon.
If this isn't a fake it's the result of a really bad cameraman.
Hi I appreciate your analysis but this is a real miracle. I have seen it myself closely on my palm without spoon. It produces amritha. I would request you to visit this place and see it for yourself.
I've seen a picture of Sai Baba crying. I have stood and watched as water was formed. I didn't say it wasn't a miracle, what I said was that if it isn't a fake then the cameraman was REALLY bad at capturing it in a way that doesn't make it look fake.
Everything I said was true, especially the bit about the picture being turned over by a spoon covered in amrita.
As for proving it's real by going to India, if you will pay for the flight I will, otherwise that was a rather silly suggestion.

After the Onam festival on the 23rd, the next two days were marked for the Canadians to perform in the Divine presence.

He called up the Tibetan monks who were seated in the centre of the hall, and asked them to commence their chanting. Continuing with their pilgrimage, the devotees from region 94 consisting residents from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia had a music programme scheduled on August 13. Sai Kulwant Hall had a beautiful look and the stage had been decorated with designs of chalk powder and flowers. On top hung the star in the crescent moon, the symbol of reverence for the Muslims the world over.

One need not materialize "food" satiate hunger, it can appeased by altering the metabolism as well. enough said, materialisation of real food is a thing of the past! Regardless, that shouldn't be the standard. People's motivations are their own - but, Sai Baba's materializations look, to me, exactly like stage magic. And the only way to tell the difference would be to test scientifically. Not surprisingly, Sai Baba never submits to testing.

Giving up. Personally I am coming to conclusion that there is no point of criticism. The world is so vibrant with its colours, cultures and traditions that the only way for change is time. I would request people who have suspicion about Sai Baba's miracles to please note that he does such fake miracles in front of video cams to tell people not to come to his place for miracle shows. He is surely not interested in showing his powers. He does miracles to instill faith in God. But unfortunately people want to see miracle shows whenever they see him. Very purpose of his birth gets defeated, if he has to do miracles without transforming people.

(contd.) both of us held the spoons close to our eyes for almost 2 minutes...and I can tell you that the amount of liquid that came out of the amulets right in front of our eyes was at least 4-5 times the volume of the amulet assuming it was hollow. I have heard some people argue that if the amulets are made of a special type of material and kept immersed in this liquid , the amulets will abosrb a lot of this liquid and when taken out of the containers, the amulet will ooze out the same .contd

In 1994, I visited this place witha friend. Someone (not Halagappa) showed us the two amulets from which amrit supposedly comes out kept in a steel cup which already had about 30-40 ml of the liquid(amrith). The amulets were taken out (in seperate spoons) draining the liquid back into the cup as much as possible. Then me and my friend held the spoons with the amulets close to our eyes.Both of us could see that some liquid was definitely coming out of both the amulets ..contd

There is no proof for all these accusations. These rumours were created by a group of people in a very planned manner because of jealousy and to prevent donations that would otherwise have gone to them. And, how can Sai baba be responsible for the murder committed by someone else in his ashram. It is very clear that people are waiting to find fault with him and fabricate stories the moment something happens in his vicinity.

In 1987 I gave 100 Rupees (8 usd) to Halagappa. He did not ask for it but gladly took it.
When is it going to be wrong to trick people with fake miracles?
India has laws for this but haven't really been enforced.
Sai Baba takes in Millions of Dollars by Tricking people.
When I was there in '87 I tried to hand him an envelope with 5,000 usd in it, luckily he didn't take it. Wow that was close, I would have felt like s__t if he would have taken it.

Sai Baba has himself warned strongly in discourses against "happenings in Mysore" (Sathya Sai Speaks vol. 10, p. 186) and "in Mysore state there are some who distribute amrith, vibhuuthi and other articles announcing that they are showering from their pictures at their places... Devotees should keep far away from such places and persons" (Sathya Sai Speaks vol. 11, p. 147). His journal also put out a warning about the Mysore orphanage and money collection. So much for Halagappa's tricks.

There may be some people somewhere who claim vibhuti etc to come in their homes and they try to make money out of it. There are cheats. But we need to understand that in some homes the miracle really happens and they do not take money.. Halagappa is accepting donation for the sake of orphanage he is running.

In Sathya Sai Speaks p. 146: "In Mysore State there are some who distribute amrith, vibnuuthi (holy ash) and other articles announcing that they are showering from my pictures at their places; they do this free for some weeks, and later, they start begging for money, like any common mendicant! This is a sin..." A yet clearer reference to Halagappa.Sai Baba warned Al Drucker never to go there after he had visited. The office at Prashanthi told me he was not authorised to collect funds!

I won't mind agreeing with you on acceptance of donations by orphanage owner. This reference you have quoted of Sai Baba does not say it is not a miracle. This text only means a person should not start begging for money taking advantage of miracles happening in his residence. I do not know if Halagappa is asking for money or just accepting money if people donate for the orphanage children.

But peole who visit this place are interested in seeing a miracle and such miracles happen in some devotees' homes worldwide; Also, this does not mean SaiBaba has given his powers to them. It is their strong devotion to Sai that has helped a miracle happening there. Clearly, he is not reffering to such devotees.

I agree Sai Baba did not say that these are not miracles. Nor did he ever say they were miracles! It is you - and others looking for miracles - who simply believe this. Though you pretend to KNOW that there are any miracles there (or worldwide either), you have no proof - it is mere belief, and I would add, a result of indoctrination combined with your desire to believe what you want. Halagappa (and others) could easily get an objective evaluation by scientists, but it is NOT in his interests!

True it is not in such devotees' interest, because they have already felt blessed by Baba. They do not seek approval from others. It is unnecessary digression for them to get involved in scrutiny and investigations. Moreover, if they do so, they know it is going to be an endless exercise because even if one sceptic is convinced there are many more sceptical people who would want close inspection, examination and proof in their own ways and it is waste of time when there is no end to it.

If the cite (p 186f Vol 10) does not refer to the orphanage near Mysore, which happenings does it refer to? The text goes on: "I never allot in this manner, nor do I hand over my powers to anyone..." aand "They could carry a begging bowl and go from door to door; that at least will save them from a life of deceit and sacrilege." This describes Halagappa nicely.
Sai Baba denounced him (and Sanathana did after I reported to Kasturi) - and he told me himself (1985) about how Baba told him off!

I went to this place.. , it is 100% real, anyone can go and see it in the morning.
But this is not main point...
main point is Love and rigteousness.
If you discard this video and you are a good person, loving and being sincere with anyone, please don't worry... You'll be a friend of ALL, Sai Baba devotees and not, and I'm sure also friend of Baba himself, as any other saint, even if you believe in them or not, NO PROBLEM, you're FREE :-)

At 1:24 just when we are about to see the hand actually fill up the camera pulls away. Notice how you don't ever actually see the hand empty and THEN fill up, it is already full when the camera is on the hand.
Then at 1:54 the hand is empty. A spoon then turns over the picture - the spoon just having been dipped into the bowl of amritha, and the picture is then seen to produce amritha, but it actually came off the spoon.
If this isn't a fake it's the result of a really bad cameraman.

I've seen a picture of Sai Baba crying. I have stood and watched as water was formed. I didn't say it wasn't a miracle, what I said was that if it isn't a fake then the cameraman was REALLY bad at capturing it in a way that doesn't make it look fake.
Everything I said was true, especially the bit about the picture being turned over by a spoon covered in amrita.
As for proving it's real by going to India, if you will pay for the flight I will, otherwise that was a rather silly suggestion.

But the way you tell it tends to make one think that the video is a fake and that Sathyasai is a fraudster.That was not a silly suggestion by godistone, if you really want to believe then you should visit the place and keep the locket in your palms and see for yourself.I have been to Prashanti nilayam and whatever be the controversies attached to the ashram, most of it is a Maya(illusion) created by Baba Himself, to test the really devoted(especially in the age of Kaliyuga)

I too have been to Prishanti Nilayam & I know Baba is for real, but he's also a fake. He is not "testing" his devotees, he's trying to get rid of them. I asked him why he allows all this stuff to be said about him, his reply was, "what must I do to stop people worshipping me". YOU are God, why worship Baba?
