  • Mike,

dont listen to this idiot. I am an african american blues musician of over 70 years. I have lived in New Orleans all my life and rarely come across such a sound. I love the song. I looked at some of your other music and really enjoyed "Tennessee Skies". However I would encourage you to write more blues/ jazz because you seem to have some blues in your soul somewhere. I have been playing your song on the streets for over two weeks and it stops everyone in there tracks to listen. Thank you

  • @colleenlmurray

I can't tell you how much that comment lifted my spirits today. I love all types of music but I've been drawn to blues since I was a boy. Blues has a way of taking pain and making something beautiful out of it. My heart is full knowing that you are playing that song on the streets of New Orleans. I must hear that one day soon :)

  • Mike dont listen to this idiot, I love the song and I am an african american blues artist that has lived in new orleans my whole life. I have listened to some of your other music and I enjoyed your "Tennessee Skies" song very much aswell. I would strongly encourage you to write some more blues/jazz music because you seem to have some blues in your soul somewhere. Thank you for the song and your contribution to all of blues music.

  • Omg this is truly a work of arts my friends, well done and you have made a fan of me! :) I play guitar and would love to learn how to play this, any chance I can get a tab for it?

  • Vitalsigns1 i bet you are on of the ugliest people in this universe!!

  • @VitalSigns1 Typically I play folk music. The blues/jazz flavor in this song is actually my way of paying homage to all those new orleans musicians, many black, who have contributed so much to American music. New Orleans could be considered the meltingpot that gave birth to jazz. In that sense, the spirit of New Orleans is the spirit of integration and unity rather than the spirit of racial separateness and exclusion, which seems to be the essence of your comment.

  • Based on your comment you should be playing drums in Africa and running away from lions, not playing strings instruments. But we live in a global world, where are no boundaries, especially musical. Do yourself a favour and put aside your racist beliefs. They only hurt yourself.

  • Thank you. Wonderful song. Will check your site out.

  • This song is so amazing.

  • This stupefied me. Good job

  • yeah someone call harry connick jr

  • the soul that was put into this song is amazing. kudos. :)

  • Wish I could hire these guys for a desck party man!

  • @danielmetzinger just because this isn't your type of music does mean you have to make fun of the artists or the people who enjoy their music. Go listen to some other crap instead of sitting behind a screen trying to ruin other peoples day.

  • What a dumb thing to say. This song sucked balls, these dudes are awful at music. Why bring up the world fair? Let's just make fun of these losers for singing a song about sucks

  • That was fucking gay

  • @SlowTippinRecords Bugger off.

  • By the way, for all those who did "hold down the fort", who stood their ground, I have another song I soon will post just for you :)

  • @mikegrecamusic Hey are you guys going to release an MP3 version of this?

  • That's great music

  • Comment removed

  • Not to say the music is bad - quite the opposite.

  • There are many disparaging comments about "stupids" not leaving New Orleans in the face of an impending storm. Let's be real in admitting that no one can fully understand the underlying reasons why some leave and some stay in such cases, except of course, those in the situation. Maybe some had no where else to go, maybe some felt a sense of obligation in "holding down the fort". Whatever the reasons, the true point is that they did stay, a horrible thing happened, and now its time to live on!

  • @mikegrecamusic

its not just the fact that some people wouldn't leave - heck, i might've stayed - but the fact that an entire metropolis was built in a giant cereal bowl is stupid. And accusations of racism still abound in the news when they didn't happen, and the people living there, no matter the color of their skin, are still having a pity party.Itis not the duty of the federal government to help you out. That's why it is called charity. That said, it was a regrettable event.

  • The boy is just to bad. He has the creole blues all over him, and I just wish he could come up with about 300 more songs like this one. Another Dr. John has sprung up amongst us . It is amazing how just 2 musicians like this can get together and take your heart away. Those who have lived in New Orleans, and or visited there, will catch the flow and feel the aura of these words and sounds . The chord mixture fits the words he sings so well, love the bandanna , New Orleans, New Orleans.

  • I remember the 300,000 stupids who waited till their sofa's were floating down main street before they realized it was time to leave or hide in the attic.

New Orleans is the PIT OF USA.

  • @mastior Lols at this. I was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, and when Rita came around we weren't stupid enough to stay around and get slapped in the face. So I do have to say they were stupid for staying there, but I don't think it's the pit of usa, it's an interesting place to go.

  • @tacobot09 I was going to go to the Worlds Fair when I realized they were forced to close down the Worlds Fair account of Such High Crimes. Pick Pockets, Rapists, Molesters, Robberies, normal for N.O. just increased when all the victims showed up to fleece. Plus N.O. is below Sea level ON the Beach Only thing saving N.O. was the IS the dam. LOWEST RENT in all of Louisiana if any I'll stick with the Pit of USA those combinations depict N.O. the best Still highest crime rate in US always has been

  • @mastior Actually N.O. moved down a lot of ranks and isn't the highest, it is still up there, but I know what you mean. The only reason I ever go to Nola is for mardi gras and the french market. Haven't lived in L.A. for two years, and wouldn't move back so armpit might be a good way to describe it come to think of it lol

  • Flow!!

  • Very well done!

  • @LapRound i was hoping they had a high-quality version somewhere. :)

  • great job guys, keep making the music:)

    What if?

    Love too!

  • Great song guys...I have loved The Blues and Swing since I was a teenager in New Hampshire...I can hear the ole Black Woman wailing away, "Blackberries, get your blackberries here, fresh blackberries picked right from the vine...."

It has a calming feel to it as well as a siren asking you to come to New Orleans!

    Keep writing, playing and singing.

Ken Morris, Fort Lauderdale (but currently in Stuttgart, Germany on vacation)

  • Who voted that they didn't like it?!? seriously! this is REALLY awesome!! id buy it on itunes, its that good. Always loved sax, nd da jaZZ, too. <3!!!

  • I love love love this song! Dig'in the blues! This is definitely your sound! Run with it!

  • hmm....gud video...

  • PRETTY DAMN GUD..:-D

  • Good job fellas!

  • Excellent piece of work. However, the sax could be a little bit further away from the microphone. Other than that, Satchmo would be proud!

  • killer voice, sweet song, but man that sax should have been 8 feet farther away from the mic, a tenor instead of an alto and also maybe get an actual saxophone player next time instead of some kid fresh out of marching band. I know the masses don't know the difference unless they here it side by side but man as a musician that ruined it for me.

  • I can feel that one, you guys; the whole world feels it. That's the kind of music that can really bring people together. Bravo.

  • This song is great ... too bad not more like this on your iTunes, and too bad this one is not on iTunes. :(

  • How did such a great, laid-back song turn into a forum for arguing over gays? Look, the one guy is right about his references to the Bible and what it says. But, this is America and everyone is equal, so even gays have rights. So, be happy. You're both right. Now, can we get back to the music? It's a great song. Period.

  • Sweet baby blues and sax to top it off.

    5 STARS man!

    Keep it up.

  • Ever sens i was little ive wanted to be able to sing and play liek that!! i mean i can =/ but i cant post anything likt this because i have a crappy cam rite now!! but you guys are great!!! <333

Jesus and God do not need you in their cheering section, you fucking outcast. G

et a fucking life and leave these people alone. Go to bed, Little Boy.

  • @StephenCraigSalon Whats up man?

  • @micmoable Alright micmoable, you really gotta put a diaper on your face cause that's where all the craps comin out. But really, if you wanna say that stuff, that's fine but do it on a more political video. Not on this song. I ain't a supporter of gay stuff, although I do accept peoples rights, but I am a supporter of respect and you gotta learn about it

  • this means so much! Thank you!!!!!!

  • @micmoable stfu, and come off your high horse. You're pretending to be religious but only god can judge his people. So back off, no one cares what your opinion of new orleans is. That being said, the song is awesome guys, love it.

  • @micmoable wow are you really that inconsiderate? did you ever stop to think that God made the gays and lesbians for a reason? doesn't the bible also say that God loves everyone? and about the ninth ward, just because they do something you don't agree with doesn't mean you shouldn't help them out in their time of need. start thinking of people other than yourself you selfish prick.

  • @micmoable Where the FUCK are YOU coming from SINNER!!!

Who in hell gave you the right to piss on this video with all your bashing and christian hate. You need to read YOUR fucking bible, Asshole. It also reads that it is also an abomination to eat any type of shell fish, and to stone any woman found un-clean on her wedding night. You right wing freaks need to keep your fucking opinions to yourself. You go through what we went through down here and then pray to your GOD. Asshole! Fuck Off!

  • @micmoable let GOD judge his people. im sure if he was here, he would tell you to shut up about new orleans. so what if people are druggies, gay, or lesbian. if GOD wants them away from heaven, then they will suffer. HE doesnt need you making their existence harder than it already is. you will suffer yourself for the the things you say. oh yeah and you are fat.

  • wonderful

  • new orleans is filled with the dregs of society--gays,lesbos,druggies--you name it and it's probably lurking in and around the streets of that filth-hole of a city. The stars were boohooing about ninth ward and those blacks were so terrible own there cops were afraid to go in there--Tell that to Brad Pit and others! And there are so many gays somebody nees to read hem the book of Leviticus in the bible so they'll know it is an abomination unto GOD!

  • You guys suck. Get some talent, or some balls, or a girlfriend. KILL THE HOMOS!!!!

  • @putitinyourpooper Another closet cock sucker....

  • This is wonderful, I love it.

  • New Orleans is filled with folks who deny the truth of God--all those homos and lesbos won't read the book of Leviticus in the bible--cause if they did, thy'd know what they were doing is absolutely wrong! REPENT AND TURN BACK TO GOD BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE FOR YOU!

  • @micmoable YOU REPENT ! ! Take it somewhere else, all your right wing christian bullshit. Fucking Moron!

  • New Orleans is filled with the shit of society--ninth ward and all those freaking gays going against GOD'S WORD!

  • @micmoable Get A Life Mother Fucker!

  • PERFECT!

  • Perfect!

  • WHAT ABOUT MISSISSIPPI--ALL WE EVER HEAR ANYBOIDY BOOHOOING ABOUT IS NEW ORLEANS--MORE STUFF GOT DESTROYED IN MISSISSIPPI

  • Come to Santa Cruz, CA! We would love to hear you on kpig! on Sunday mornings we have a live broadcast with music promoter Sleepy John, who would really love you guys!

  • Well done Mike, you captured something powerful with that song.

  • GREAT !! Play more ...

  • Mmmk that good and all but ppl seem to forget about the Mississippi Gulf Coast New Orleans got flooded and rebuilt alot faster than we did in Mississippi our whole coast was whiped out so maybe you should include us if you are goin to do something about Hurricane Katrina cuz we had it just as bad as New Oreleans

  • @GanjaSmkinFreedomFtr THAS RIGHT!

  • @GanjaSmkinFreedomFtr Come on, you can't be serious. You sound like a teenage girl who just got dumped by her boyfriend. Sure, Mississippi got it too, we all know that. But the song is trying to capture what was lost in NOLA and how they will bring it back. And that "that" is all about the music, the blues, the spirit of the town. Don't be jealous. Write a Mississippi song.

  • Wow man, this is incredibly good and touching. Your gonna go somewhere.

  • This was great but as a sax player I'd say the sax could have been maybe further in the room. He sounds pretty good maybe a bit of improv and soul. Also maybe a thicker reed.

  • Amazing

    1

  • Nice, but I have to agree with the comment that the sax is just a little overpowering. It would be better if he backed off a bit so the mic doesn't pick him up so much. But, that said, it is a very cool song. Good job!

  • good :>
