i played this game night and day....I got through all the missions, mid air fueling and landing on the deck........not easy...but if you played it 12 hours a day definately possible

I think the Euro version (I think there's only one) is the best of both worlds. No hitting the buttons when you land or refue,l plus a little slower action and bigger missiles before they hit you than part 2 (but still the visuals of part 2). I've completed that game long ago and I even enjoyed it a bit at times.

I think the real problem is the controller. Back in the day, to play a flight simulator, you needed a joystick, especially on the PC. An NES controller doesn't work well with these games.

I could land and refuel. The 3rd level is over land and if I remember right there were these tree like things that fired missiles at you. Also... you can call the refueling plane on the first mission by selecting less missiles, running out and hitting Select.

If you notice the main reason why he was not able to properly land the plane is because his speed was way off. He was going like 110 before crashing and you need to have roughly 280-288 speed to land the plane.  You must pay attention to the "left left" or "right right" but more importantly is the speed of the plane as you are about to land. Him saying it is impossible is not true.

Landing is SO easy. This guy just can't play. It takes a bit of practice, but it's really quite easy. The Alt and Speed meters are key. Get them close and you have it, that's all you have to do.

Altitude/speed is actually useful for landing and refilling, you need to be close to the numbers displayed, no wonder he had such trouble....

The "Tiger" missle can one hit the ships, and is also refueled at the refuel station...

And it's quite fun if you know how to do those two.
