I like it but pastels are pastels. I miss the Stephen´s fake singing that sounded so terribly sincere.

i really like teenage fanclub, and in many ways they're a much better band than the pastels, although i prefer the pastels personally.

but this is limp, with none of the slow energy of the pastels' version. which, to be honest, i thought teenage fanclub would be able to do fairly well

Excellent cover. I still prefer "Love is All's" cover of this song the best. Very garage sounding and with a lot more 'oomph' than either The Pastels or Teenage Fanclub. Not that they're bad or anything.

The definitive cover of this song has yet to be done though IMO. if only there was some middle ground between the pure pop of The pastels and TF and the heavy guitar and distortion of the Love Is All version. I think perhaps Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs could find that balance if they ever do an "under The Covers III" CD.
