@DyslExiCKiDtheBAND Yes, but we have an International team now. You can find TVS teachers in Italy, Germany and France now. This video is a bit dated... check out the new content from "Pillars 2.0".
Hi. I'm really interested in this for students, but am concerned about..loads of stuff.
He's moving his head down on the lowest notes, and taking his head back at the highest notes.
His shoulders are going up at times on his in-breath, & on the top B/Bb and above you can hear his breath intake. No legato.
All big, and I mean really big no-no's in legit/classical training that we know lead to vocal strain. The range, obviously, is amazing - but is vocal health being lost to "big high notes"?
@pianomags Thanks for your interest and I would be happy to work with you to teach you these techniques. There are no "no-no's" in these techniques. Just because something is new and not familiar to the Classical doctrine, it doesn't make it a "no-no". The posture positions are nothing more then "anchoring" for support. There is legato, perhaps not by your understanding of it. There is no vocal strain at all, none what so ever. You need to understand contemporary methods and techniques better.
@roblunte I think most of it is perfectly healthy and quite good. I think just a bit more "aw" on the ah vowel would be a cleaner tone despite what hes singing, for vocalise purposes but its only my opinion. I also think technique does not have to follow classical style, look at adam lambert, but singing posture is singing posture and it affects breathing. I thought it was mostly verygood, but some of those falsetto notes were absolutely pushed,he lost pitch, good start, but less is more.
@viv3147 This is the same techniques Adam Lambert is using and there is no Falsetto in this. He is NOT singing any Falsetto.. I can see you think, as most people do, that Falsetto & Head Voice mean the same thing. "Falsetto" is not the register where high notes are produced. Falsetto is not a "place", its not a vocal register, "Falsetto" is a vocal mode. I highly encourage you to watch my video, "Falsetto is NOT your Head Voice!" This will help you understand what your talking about much better.
@viv3147 Im really happy for you! Wow, please share a link or video of you "coloring" your voice singing style that isnt one of these "twangy or belt" things... I'm facinated to hear it.
You need to take lessons and understand what your talking about better before you post on a publich forum. Your welcome to train with me and I will help you to better understand how the voice and singing really work.
@viv3147 "twang and belt and edge are not vocal modes". Well your right, "edge" isnt a vocal mode, not sure where you got that idea, maybe from your vast experience as a voice expert on YouTube, but twang a belt are. If you disagree with that, you might want to check in with the Estill organization, The Voice Foundation and the British Voice Association and let them know they have made a huge mistake. Also let them know that they forgot to add your "Edge" mode to the list. Wow, you know so much!
Jesus....Hes not even winded...Thats my problem..I cannot control the amount of air i am expending to hit the upper notes...is this due to no control of the throat or controlling the breathe...??
Robert, I have been singing for a decade but have never had any training and really want to get better. Where do I start? I have seen your program, am really interested in buying it, and booking some lessons via internet since i am Boston. but should I prepare with some breathing lessons or something first?
I can't believe I didn't find you 5 years ago when I tried and gave up singing lessons. LOL. I am presently using Jaime's book to extend my range. I have never had a problem with bridging. It seemed to come easy for me. I am deeply impressed with the video above. That guy is doing exactly what I imagine myself doing some time in the future.
I would like to try out your downloadable lessons and maybe set up a Skype to make sure I am on the right track. Thanks.
Hey Robert! You've got a huge fan in me. As a vocal coach myself, 1 who's guilty of pulling & locking up, I'm impressed at your ability to stretch up into your high mix, flageolet like you do. Years of an idiot who told me to scream in chest left cysts in between my registers which make it hard 2 transition. Almost demands i pull now. SAD. Which is why I'm so passionate about what I teach now, and what you teach!! What I call a transitioned belt. LOVE IT! Watch my vids if u like.
Rob I'm going to order the program this week or next. I really want to get my voice back to where it was. I hope it works, I want more power and projection and it looks like the right program for me. thanks
I can sing the same notes at a lesser volume and velocity, but it would not sound as aggressive, powerful and is not as much fun to put it frankly. Me and my vocal athletes workout with some "sizzle" in our performance!
Hi, I would love to work with you. Why dont you go to my web site and purchase the training system, "The Four Pillars of Screaming!"... it will help you a lot.
Thats an easy question with a difficult answer. Can you speak in a Falsetto voice? If so, thats your head voice... so you need to be able to train from your chest voice to your head voice and then build strength and coordination so that your head tones dont sound falsettoey, but more like a full voice. Thats what voice training is a lot about and what we specialize in at TVS.
did you meant that some people have falsetto and some have a head voice?
i once tried to mix my falsetto with my chest voice and it ended out the opposite way,i hade to "modify" my chest voice in order to "smoothen " the transition up was that the write way? (i didn't like this sound)
what your actually saying is, that by some cordination in the throat, i will still use falsetto but it will just sound stronger so it counts as head voice?
No, your still confused. Falsetto is a tone, its a timbre... is only a certain kind of sound. Head voice is the register. You sing Falsetto tones and full voice tones in the head voice. The difference is training to learn how to turn the Falsetto into a full voice tone. I cant explain this on youtube comments... purchase our system.
The main thing is to listen yo yourself (your recordings!!!!!!!). If you like the way you sound, then it actually doesnt matter is it full voice, head voice or 'falsetto', except you are going to sing in opera houses, Because, most of the people, that will listen to you, know nothing about head, chest and other voices. They dont care whether you thing right or wrong. They just like the way you sound or not.
Is this developed in America?
