Dude, alot of people use game testing to get into a video game company. And it's not an easy job either. You have to play incomplete levels of games over and over doing stupid stuff to find glitches. And you have to report them in detail. Like where it is, how to get it to glitche and what it does. which I imagine can be really tiring when testing early early stages of the game. Because the game is incomplete, it really isn't fun. And game testers from what I hear, don't get paid much.
