  • One of my all time favorite games for the Sega system. So ahead of its time. So good.

  • Herzog Zwei was actually first released in 1989, in Japan.

  • Herzog Zwei is my all time favorite Sega music. (Thunderforce II/III after that) Love it! Thanks for sharing

  • Oh man, would love Herzog on xbox live with true multiplayer capability.

  • I heard the soundtrack for this game was good and they were right this OST is godlike

This is the true Genesis sound

  • @TheLegendOfRenegade I reccomend you look into techosoft's other works on the genesis like Dragon's fury (Devil Crash MD) or thunder force 2 and 4 or even elemental master. Their works on the genesis are some of the most impressive you'll find and Herzog Zwei is mearly and appatizer if you can believe that

  • they need to remake this game the exact same way with better graphics no 3D STUFF LIKE ARMORED CORE the same game with the same music!!!!

  • It was realy impossible to end this game in multiplayer. The defending player seats in his base and you cannot do anything.

  • One of my all time favourite game tunes

  • As far as I know this was the first RTS game ever. WAY ahead of its time! And still a kick ass game. Awesome music too.

  • Best RTS ever!

  • I like this more than games like starcraft because you take part in the battle as oppsed to just watching / managing. Plus the orders you gave units was varied and meant you could have little skirmishes across the map.

  • Super !!

  • Imagine a remade Herzog Zwei on digital download......O_O

  • Being rammed by nostalgia really feels good!

  • i miss playing this game....i always played the stage with the water in the middle the music at 5:12 plays for it

  • brilliant

  • i just stated playing this game again:D

  • Someone please send me the track that starts at 3:14, or tell me where to find it.

  • I believe it's called "The Mournful War", sorry i'm a year late.

  • Damn. This game brings back memories. Thx a lot for sharin this nostalgic game soundtrack :)

  • Stand aside plebeians, Herzog Zwei was SICK. WAY ahead of its time. Plus the music rocks pretty hard too.

  • such a good game!!!

  • The co-op looks interesting in this game, but I can tell that shooting stuff is the hard part.

  • the co-op in this game is amazing. the shooting actually isnt that hard be cause 90% of the game is strategic so u get your armies to do the shooting for you... great strategic game and one of my favs on genesis. plus the music is amazing

  • I missed this one as well, but have heard of the series often. In a way it reminds me of Toe Jam and Earl, despite being absolutely nothing like it.

A this-gen remake with cooperative missions where player two (in human form) can jump onto player one (in flight form) and be dropped off over an enemy base would be all kinds of awesome.

Sadly, it would probably end up more like the Transformers movie game..

  • If Thunder Force can be resurrected (yay!), then I guess anything is possible. Whatever happened to Technosoft anyway?

  • Technosoft closed in 2001 and tried to reopen in 2008 but no success. I don't know if SEGA owns the rights to all the games they made for them.

  • @Fall3nAngelz wow I thinked that nobody played Toe Jam and Earl, do u remember other games like Centurion or Ahhhh! Real Monsters, that was good times

  • What happened to Herzog Eins? (The numbers are about all I remember from the semester of German 1301 that I took about nine years ago.)

  • The game 'Herzog' does exist, but it's on the MSX, a console most don't even know existed. I actually tried hunting down the soundtrack, but was unsuccessful.

If anybody can hook me up, please leave me a message...

  • I can't hook you up with a soundtrack. I think they may have used the same music for Herzog as in Herzog Zwei. MobyGames has a Herzog page with screenshots and a little game history.

  • @garudoh they sell this game on Amazon.com for about $17.00.

  • This was the most difficult game i had ever played on the Sega Genesis.

  • I fucking love Technosoft's soundtracks, even if I haven't played many of their games. For me, they're like the SunSoft of the Genesis, in that all their OST's kick ass and are vastly underrated imho.

  • right on! sunsoft? what games did they make?
