Why can't i find a 'techno' or 'electro' or 'remix' or 'MASHUP' version of this song???? The $UPREMES did the best 'over the top' version of it! I wanna find a version i can dance 2!
@ChrisCrossdresser - Well, that's not so bad, actually, but to translate this song to techno or electro would be dreadful. Horrendous. Wicked. Sacrilege.
I've been listening to Keith Jarrett's 1972 version since ,,,,,,,,1972. I've never felt the need to explore the original until a whim took me about a week ago. More fool me. Nearly 40 years denying myself this. Lesson ? - you're never to old to learn what an idiot you've been.
p.s.
KJ's version is a simple and sweet instrumental (from his 'Mourning of a Star' LP.)
The best and most honest love song I have ever heard and I have enjoyed since it was released on Blue 37 or so years ago! Thanks for the post. mikeking88@comcast.net
well i didnt say jay was the best, so 1st calm down :) 2nd, they are all good covers, every1 has different taste in music so that cowboy 1 u speak of culd be the best cover to that special person, so u are no1 to judge and say they are all weak, sorry, just a thought on my mind
@arsrin I've check out everybody's cover of this song on youtube' including Jay's and their all weak in comparison. One guy makes his version sound like a cowboy song.
I've just recently started listening to Joni Mitchell, and I am pleasantly suprised. The way some people deride her music led me to believe it was something altogether different. This is terrific.
@levanyzzuf Joni Mitchell was the Queen of wimpy-gimpy hippy musi and she eserves some respect. all the rest were just trailing in her wake. if you want to hear ear shit, listen to Joan Biaz.
@levanyzzuf I grew up in the era of her carear, but it was my early years as a child. my dad died and i got his dulcimer. i am searching to learn to play my Dulcimer, and come accrosed her music again, it is beautiful and full of feeling she is a great artist.
Amazing!! One of my favourite Joni songs - and what a lovely performance. As much as I like her 'younger' voice, I actually think in htis period it gained more expressivity, and she was a lot more rythmical too. This was patent on For the Roses already.
Joni, we love you, thank you for decades of music that even people my age (23) are thankful for.
(And It's such an honor to write the first comment on a Joni video!)

Joni Mitchell is a poet, muscian and artist, she has inspired the last 2 decades, she is untouchable
wish she realizied her own contribution, and realized we all have something to contribute
Violenceinmind40 7 months ago
@Violenceinmind40 She did, but for some reason MTV and VH1 banned her. Now, her popularity is
exploding. The wims of commercial popularity is all so boring.
