I selected Xvid as my compressor in Camstudio and then I pressed record. After that this box popped up that said "Xvid Status". It was loading and kept loading until eventually it said "Xvid Status (Not responding). I wanna make it to where that box does not pop up, PLEASE HELP!!

@zeus151000 Check the compressor options in Camstudio or Hypercam so that it will not display the encoding status.

@moirafairable What format are you trying to use? Don't use format factory, get MediaCoder, it's a lot better. My next video is going to be a tutorial on Mediacoder and all of it's options probably.

You need the system codecs installed to decode some formats.

Try the K-Lite Full codec pack or K-Lite Mega codec pack.

But not as user friendly as Format Factory. Plus Format Factory cuts out all the bullshit and gets right down to it. One more - MediaCoder more buggy.

128 is ok but there is a clear difference betwean 128 and 320 if you have even decent speakers. i haven't done to much testing but around 192 it gest preaty hard to hear the difference betwean that and 320 on the system i have.

For sound files there is a great variety of different programs.

What I use is DBPowerAmp but Format Factory works fine for most peoples purposes if its just Mp3, WMA, AAC or Ogg.

It's just a bit slow and the encoder used (MEncoder) is not the best like FFMpeg.

AVI is a container it could have any format Divx or Xvid or other format

You could always just drop stuff in a folder, that's usually what do when I have too much stuff on the desktop.

To support Mpeg you will need to get Virtual Dub Mpeg 2, just search google.

UPDATE: Latest version of VirtualDub 1.8.1 to 1.9.0, and Xvid 1.1.3 to 1.2.1, and to get everything you might need I recommend the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack (it has everything.. install it all lol)

K-Lite Mega Codec Pack has all the codecs for hypercam and virtual dub or whatever you need them for.

UPDATE: I didn't mention this before but you can get plugins for virtualdub that will decode AC3, Mpeg-1/2 and something else.

Do you have any suggestions here- I can't seem to get the lame option in the audio compression window in virtualdub even though I've installed both Lame encoder and Lameacm?

Hmm... Make sure your getting Lame MP3 encoder on free codecs and not the installable ACM. It should come with a file you can right click and choose install.

14, and make sure that the video is in .avi format or some other supported format, that it's Xvid, and if it's 10 minutes or less that it's around or under 100 MB for faster uploading.
