hold on, that's bull, you have the HG20, the DV version of my HF20, which is flash version. mine have 15 optical zoom, and one time used all optical zoom to get not nearly close, so what did you use to get THAT close, and one thing about CMOS is that X glow pattern on light sources, it can be good and bad.

Have you tried turning on your digital zoom? The optical zoom won't get the detail, you have to turn on your digital zoom.

yea, forgot as soon as I got it, I turned it off. In professional footage, you only use optical zoom
